Description

Spectacular location right next to the tranquil waters of the Harriet River.
Lounge area has radio, and TV/DVD player (only plays music CDs, movies, no TV Reception available. (CDs, DVD movies and cartoons are provided)
Open kitchen and dining area with microwave, gas stove and oven.
Gas heating for chilly winter nights and a pedestal fan for warmer summer nights. Bathroom includes hairdryer and has electric heater for winter.
Back patio area with 4 burner gas BBQ for easy cooking.
Front veranda fenced so children can be secure at the front with outdoor setting. Sleeps up to 6 people with linen included (A family, or 3 couples) 2 king size beds (one splits into 2 single beds) and 2 single beds. (Two small floor mattresses also available for extra bedding suitable for infants or small children only).
Undercover parking for one car available

Tourist Attractions

Vivonne Bay has one General Store (that sells everything)!
It is 40 minutes drive to Kingscote. A car is needed on the Island to access the tourist sights. Kangastay is close to Seal Bay, Admiral Arch, The Remarkables, Little Sahara, Parndana Wildlife Park and Point Ellen headland.
There are tourist maps, booklets and information supplied at the house.

Local Attractions

It is possible to explore many wonderful walks from the house. We have a tame possum and there are many of Kangaroo Island's birds, wallabies, kangaroos and echidnas in the surrounding bushland.

There is boating (canoes can be hired locally) swimming, snorkelling, surfing and fishing.

The Harriet river is suitable for swimming and boating. (See the photos on the Vivonne Bay local knowledge page). Safe beach areas, snorkelling, surfing.

The river also provides good fishing for bream, mullet and tommy rough right at the front door (60m). Vivonne Bay provides jetty fishing for king george whiting, salmon trout and many other species, as does the beach.
