ACCOMMODATION
Cape House is uniquely furnished with Asian antiques, original artworks, Persian rugs and contemporary homewares. Wide verandahs for relaxing, timber shutters for cooling south east ocean breezes, cathedral ceilings and recycled oak timbers from the old Cairns Brewery and bricks from the Hambledon Sugar Mill complete the 300 sqm of living area.

The master queen bedroom has a huge ensuite opening to a private rainforest verandah. Two further queen bedrooms, guest lounge and second bathroom are located discretely at the opposite end of the residence and all feature views to the Daintree River and Port Douglas. A mezzanine loft offers flexible extra space.

The open plan lounge and dining areas enjoy superb natural ventilation in the warmer months, and are made warm in the winter months by a slow combustion stove and ample firewood available.

A barbeque and outdoor dining for eight make a long lunch irresistible. The timber chef’s kitchen opens to a further verandah, perfect for watching the evening fall over the rainforest and lights at sea in the distance.
