Saltwater Shack is very much away from it all in the bush at Freycinet Eco Retreat. It has stunning views of Saltwater Lagoon on Friendly Beaches and the Tasman Sea.

This cottage can accommodate up to two people in a king bed room, plus two more in a small twin room. It is fully furnished with a comfortable beds, full kitchen facilities, open plan kitchen/dining/living area, Tassie Barrel log burner, LCD TV, DVD (with a selection of DVDs), ipod dock, and large deck. Linen and towels are provided.

There is a free wifi hotpspot on the property available for guests.

Minimum 2 night stay. Discounts apply to weekly bookings during some months as detailed on our website.

Wildlife and Walks

There is a variety of wildlife all around including an abundance of wallabies, but also wombats, quolls (both Eastern and Spotted Tailed), echidnas, sea eagles, frogs, and of course Tasmanian Devils.

You can walk on the property itself, and the top of Mt Paul affords a 270 degree view - available exclusively to guests only!

If you want to venture further afield then the area is well known for bushwalking, and in particular the walk to either the lookout over or to Wineglass Bay itself- one of the top ten beaches in the World.

Local Attractions

As well as being within easy striking distance of Wineglass Bay and other terrific bushwalks, Saltwater Shack is a great base from which to explore the area or experience other local attractions including the local boutique vineyards, kayaking trips, sea cruises, 4 wheel motorbiking or simply swimming, birdwatching, fishing or playing golf.
