Gillys Getaway

Description

Gillys Getaway is our special corner of paradise at Poyungan Valley on the eastern beach of Fraser Island. The house is nestled in a secluded valley 48.5 klms north of the Hook Point barge landing, surrounded by national park, lawns and grevilleas. We offer remoteness, privacy, ocean views and bird wathcing all in view from the front and side decks, with a short 100m walk through the sand dunes to the beach.

The house is recently renovated, self contained and fully insect screened. It accommodates 2 to 8 people, making it ideal for two families. This includes three bedrooms with fans - 3 double and 4 single beds with mattress protectors, pillows, blankets and doonas. The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils, two 520litre electric fridge/freezers, gas stove, gas hot water 240v lights and automatic washing machine in laundry. We generate 24 hour power from solar panels with storage batteries and automatic back up generator.

Location/Local Attractions

Gillys Getaway is located at Poyungan Valley, half way up the island, which makes it close to all the attractions this World Heritage Island boasts. Lush rainforests, never ending sand blows, crystal clear lakes and creeks, endless beaches to fish, bushwalks and abundant wildlife are all at your doorstep.

We are 12klms north of Eurong and 6klms south of Happy Valley. You will find a shop, restaurant and hotel at Eurong.
