Owners Linda and Rod Harris like nothing better than opening a bottle of good local red wine, pulling up a chair on the Lodge verandah and sharing a story or two with guests. Visitors love to learn more about the local area, its attractions and history – and Linda and Rod are more than happy to dish out insider’s suggestions and advice on what to see and do in this glorious slice of Australia’s South West. It’s this personal and friendly service that sets Kendenup Lodge and Cottages apart, and keeps regular visitors coming back time and again.
The personal approach touches every aspect of the business. All guests have access to the Lodge Lounge featuring comfy sofas, leather armchairs and log fire. Chess sets, glossy magazines and a plush interior give a warm atmosphere – it’s the perfect place to retreat with your favourite person or a good book.
A licensed bar is located in the Lounge and opens in the evenings for groups. Dinner is available in the dining area, or the Lodge Hall opens for dinner for large groups. With generous, hearty meals featuring the best of fresh local in-season produce and homegrown vegetables. This is country-style hospitality at its best. Cooked or continental breakfasts are available on request and are served in the dining area, Hall or delivered to your cottage.
In keeping with the personal approach, a private chef is available for guests wanting something special. Food preparations are carried out in the Hall kitchen, with the final and impressive cooking process taking place in your cottage kitchen. This is a popular service for special occasions.
Butler Service: Fancy some one-on-one TLC? Girls groups are particularly fond of the butler service. Dressed in tails and catering for your every need – from heating up the spa to serving drinks, Chris the Butler is available on an hourly basis.
COTTAGE OF INDULGENCE $450 and FAMILY COTTAGE $350
Cottage of Indulgence: Sleeps two couples for $450.Ultimate luxury is on offer at the Cottage of Indulgence, where crisp linen, warm colours, a cosy log fire and personalised service make it popular with couples and honeymooners. The private, below-ground spa, with floor-to-ceiling glass panels makes you feel part of nature – giant, flood-lit blue gums create a dramatic backdrop. Turn on the tap in the spa and fill your glass with champagne (literally champagne on tap! but this does need to be ordered). This two bedroom cottage features heated towel rails in the bathroom, its own self contained kitchen, dining area and lounge.
Family Cottage: With two bedrooms sleeping up to six people at a price of $300 the Family Cottage is ideally suited to friends or families. A separate bathroom, toilet, lounge, large fully-equipped kitchen and dining area give plenty of room to move. From a sun-drenched spot on the wide verandah, the Stirling Range feels like a mere arm’s length away.
Each cottage offers satellite TV, DVD, stereo and air conditioning.
LODGE "HOTEL STYLE ACCOMMODATION" $170,
Opened in September 2006, the Lodge is ideally suited to corporate guests. Each room can sleep 3 guests for $160 With eight air conditioned, double rooms, some also including generous, king-size single beds, the Lodge can accommodate 26 guests at a time. Each room has a private ensuite, satellite TV and internet access. Guests have access to a dining area and stylish communal kitchen with commercial oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer. A massage is available with a prior booking and for a well earned rest there is also a steamroom and a spa.
Ideally suited for wedding events and corporate meeting booking out the property is not excessive. It provides privacy and creates a more intimate atmosphere for your guests.
The "Hut" is a modern "bedsit form of accommodation"
suitable for couples, families or friends. BBQ area and a woodfired pizza oven.
