Marine & National Parks

Sitting at the northern end of Jervis Bay are the three townships of Callala Bay, Callala Beach and Myola. Well known for their stunning beaches, safe bay swimming and dolphin parades, these three villages offer plenty of hospitality and a friendly beach atmosphere. There is excellent sailing from Callala Bay and a regional boat ramp and jetty provide easy access to the water.Callala Beach is inside Jervis Bay, this is a protected marine park, featuring the whitest sand in the world.
You can explore amazing parks such as the Minnamurra Rainforest Centre in Budderoo National Park or Fitzroy Falls in Morton National Park, the sandstone scenery is on a grand scale throughout this park. Further south is George Boyd lookout, Little Forest Plateau and Pigeon House Mountain, they offer views of the coastline and the Budawang wilderness areas. To the north east,you can view Fitzroy Falls and Belmore Falls, see them plunge, off the plateau, into rainforest gullies below.

Things to do

Currarong is a must see with its surfing beaches and ship wrecks. Greenwell Point oysters and the ew boat ramp offer ideal picnic areas.
A lovely short drive east from the main highway in Nowra is the charming rural township of Terara, stay on this road and you will come to the fascinating and historic Comerong Island. this is predominantly a nature reserve, with a winding dirt road leading to the southern end of exquisite Seven Mile Beach, which is part of the Island. Its two picnic areas provide access to both the ocean beach and estuary areas. Access to the Island is by car ferry.
The Southern Highlands is only a short 1 hour drive through Kangaroo Valley. Many people are attracted to the Southern Highlands for the scenery which is divided between rolling green hills and dramatic waterfalls in the national park wilderness. Shopping is also an attraction, there are the markets, the antiques, the books and the specialty shops. Visiting cellar doors and treating the senses to cool climate food and wine experiences are a pleasant way to spend a day.
