Description

Billabong Bed & Breakfast owned by Vicky and Ted who discovered this special hideaway only 10 minutes from the city center of Cairns and a short walk to the beach, would like to share the beauty of this natural and very unique landscape with fellow travellers.

The newly renovated home is built on an island surrounded by a private Billabong stocked with fish and spectacular abundant native bird life. This is a birdwatchers paradise and for guests who are missing their animal friends, it won't take long to make new friends with the affectionate dogs, chilli & roxy. Take a stroll around the property which includes many organic tropical fruits or just relax by the Billabong with a book & a drink & soak up the atmosphere.

The two guest suites have french doors leading on to your own deck enjoying views across the Billabong.
Both have private en-suites, separate entrance, queen size beds & air conditioing. Sit back, relax and enjoy a tropical gourmet breakfast of organic home grown and local produce on the spacious deck overlooking the Billabong. Wireless Internet.

Guest Reviews
We stayed here in November 2006 and absolutely loved the place. We arrived without a booking, late in the day and were greeted so warmly & kindly that we stayed here for 5 nights instead of the 1 night we were going to stay. The location with the accommodation on an island is fabulous and so unique and the changing scenery on the Billabong constantly is fabulous. The hospitality we received from the owners was the best we have experienced, the room was quite lovely with a mixuture of a mexican/balinese feel to it and breakfasts were awesome, different every day and with the freshest of ingredients & so tasty. They grow a lot of their own fruit, so the fruit platter is bursting with different colors and flavours. we loved this place and did not want to leave. We would go back to this same B&B if I came back to Australia. We loved it and would highly recommend it.
