Guest Reviews

  • "Great family home with enough room for two families to share which makes it good value. The property is well presented - immaculately clean and generous supplies of sundries which adds to the enjoyment of your stay. We loved the large pool and shared many leisurely meals sitting at the large outdoor setting on the deck overlooking the tropical garden and pool. The owners were unobtrusive hosts but very attentive to our needs. We would love to return again."

  • "Lots of accommodation - more than enough room for 2 familes - there were 5 adults and 4 kids in our group. Within walking distance to the beach."

  • "Hi Mary and Anthony Thank you so much for being so helpful with our stay in Port Douglas. We really appreciated your local information about the area. The ?Queenslander? was such a fabulous house to stay. The bathrooms were quite luxurious and the décor in the bedrooms was very tasteful. Plenty of room for everyone, the kids enjoyed the accommodation downstairs and the adults upstairs. The pool was well used, including the beach towels, and we all enjoyed eating and having a few drinks on the balcony, The beach is really beautiful and we all generally loved the area. We would definitely come and stay here again and recommend the ?Queenslander? to everyone. Thanks also for the champagne. It was much appreciated!! Thanks again John & Jenny"

  • "Dear Mary, Fantastic property with everything we needed for a family of 6 with two young children. Could not fault the property in terms of facilities, supplies or location. Beautiful setting and a relaxing deck for kids to play safely. Thoroughly enjoyed our time and was amazed as soon as we walked into the property. Did not want to leave!"

  • "Dear John Thanks again for the house - it was great - well equipped with everything in good working order. It's a great setting - the access to the beach etc. Particularly liked how 'low maintenance' the property was with no 'quirks' - I think the only thing that we looked for one evening was oven proof dishes - but again this is being really fussy - the kitchens were well stocked with everything really. It was a nice touch to provide a few basics (spare loo rolls, soap powder, wup liquid) - many properties don't so it was nice to see - same with the beach towels... Really -everyone had a great time - the kids loved the pool. I would certainly recommend the property to others - and wondered whether you sometimes let upstairs and downstairs separately? If so - my husband and I would probably come back without the others as Port D is a regular visiting place for us and we have previously rented apartments further up the road. Thanks once again John Emma"

  • "Hi John Had a wonderful time in Port Douglas. The accommodation was fantastic! More than enough accommodation for a party of 9 (including 4 kids). It had everything we needed and more. Great location albeit a little close to the main road. All the best. Cheers Tony"

  • "Hello there John Just got back from our travels. We really enjoyed staying in the Queenslander. There was plenty of room for all the family and the children just loved the swimming pool. It was a nice surprise when we first arrived. It didn't feel like rented accommodation at all. Much better than we expected - it had a lovely traditional feel to it. We loved the decor and it was clean, bright and welcoming. The champagne was particularly appreciated! I would not hesitate to recommend the Queenslander - it was great. Many thanks Regards Joy and family"

  • "Hi John; "During our 10-day holiday in Port Douglas in June 2007, we knew that we wanted to stay at a place where our large family could feel at home. We found the Queenslander and it was a great match for our needs. There were very impressive amenities, including televisions and videos, as well as many beds, indoor and outdoor cooking areas with dishes and utensils, all linens and a washer/dryer. The pool was also enjoyed by our children, as was the playset in the back yard. With the upstairs and downstairs or the house divided, it gave some privacy to the groups on each floor, but it was relaxed enough that people could go up and down. The Queenlander is centrally located in Port Douglas, with easy access to all of the attractions in Port Douglas and the surrounding areas. Locally, it is just a quick drive to Macrossan street, the beach or to the grocery store. Overall, The Queenslander is a a great place for a family or a group to use as their home away from home while vising Port Douglas." T.S."

  • "John Thanks for a great time in Port Douglas. We have always rented a house or unit in Port Douglas for our holidays and this trip was certainly the most pleasant. The house location close to the beach is great and having everything from beach towells to the dvd library provided made the stay that much more relaxing. The kids really enjoyed having the large pool to play in and having 2 separate living areas worked well in accommodating the different age groups. Thanks again for the great experience and look foward to staying with you again when we are next in Port Douglas. Regards Boris Ivancic"
