Description

Cornerstone is a comfortable house for a holiday with family or friends. It has two queen bedrooms and another bedroom with bunks, a single and a trundle, a bathroom and separate shower room. We provide doonas and pillows and you have the choice of bringing your own linen or having us provide doona covers, sheets and towels.

The main feature is its privacy. After leaving the beaten track and taking some unmade roads you will travel up a 500m drive way through dense ti-tree. There you will be surprised to find a pretty garden and comfortable house.

Click on the Satellite option on the map of Cornerstone and you will see the Winkarlin bush island and how it connects to the Coastal Reserve. Vistors are welcome to explore over 50 acres of bush around the Cornerstone house and we can suggest interesting directions to try.

Winkarlin Beach or the surf beaches

Even the locals are surprised to find the loveliness and emptiness of Winkarlin Beach. It is only metres from Cornerstone's driveway to the entrance to the beach which is good for swimming at high tide and wonderful for exploring at all times.

For fishing enthusiasts you can try you luck off the 'flat rock' on Winkarlin Beach at low tide or walk along the beach to the seawall for high tide fishing.

If you want to surf or boogie board, drive for only 20 minutes and you reach Waratah Bay or the patrolled surf beach at Sandy Point.

Birds and other wildlife

Over 100 different species have been identified in and around Cornerstone. For example, there are flocks of Blue-winged parrots breeding there. We are always hoping to spot one with an orange belly! Most days you will see wallabies on the driveway and we regularly see wombats, blue-tongues and echidnas. Corner Inlet is a marine park and the bird life is stunning!

A DVD player is available.

Guest Reviews
Nice, quiet accommodation and not to far from Wilson Promontory NP.

If you really want to get away from it all then Cornerstone is THE place.
Our two year old loved exploring the garden and bush tracks, spotting birds and wallabies and finding beetles.
The bird song is glorious. The driveway itself is a nature ramble and the little beach an explorer's delight.
The house is basic and clean, has comfy beds, plenty of space, no TV (brilliant!).
Take books, games, food and wine and you'll be set for a great time, plus the Prom is less than an hour at a steady wildlife-spotting cruising speed.
Perfect for families, bird spotters and lovers of nature.

A lovely little house, set in a secluded area of bush - animals everywhere! The house was perfectly functional, clean and tidy, with the surrounding gardens well maintained and pretty. A great base for a group weekend in the Prom.
