Description

Top the Hill is the newest addition to the accommodation market in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Situated on Hovard Road, Maleny, it offers six luxuriously appointed private and separate cabins, all joined to the main building by a covered walkway. There is also a unit in the main building with disabled facilities.

Spoil yourself – relax in beautiful surroundings without having to prepare any meals. Our specialty is Mediterranean style food, including home-made pasta and wood fired pizza. Dine in style in the classical dining room warmed by the open fire; or, weather permitting, alfresco under the pergola overlooking picturesque valleys and mountain views.

WEEKEND ESCAPE PACKAGE

Two night stay, checking in Friday night after 5 pm and checking out by midday Sunday. Have drinks in the BYO bar (no cover charges) before dinner both evenings, Friday and Saturday dinners, Saturday and Sunday breakfasts. $520 incl. GST (All prices quoted are for a couple)

Top of the Hill is set on 2 hectares on the western side of Bald Knob looking towards Montville. It is only minutes away from Mary Cairncross Park, and is a short drive to Montville or Maleny. Featuring a wide variety of bird and animal life, it offers a relaxing atmosphere in beautiful surroundings for a perfect getaway weekend.

Three-course dinners are served each evening, and a full breakfast is provided each morning. All meals are served in either the indoor or outdoor dining areas of the main building. The specialty of the gourmet cook is Mediterranean-style meals. One night will be Mediterranean night, with wood-fired pizzas and home-made pasta on offer. The other night of your stay dinner is a more formal affair with choices of fish, chicken, beef or pork dishes. Fresh local produce is used in season, including specialties of the area, Maleny cheeses and avocadoes. Breakfast consists of fruit, juice, cereal, and a fully-cooked buffet. Where possible, dining is alfresco to take advantage of the wonderful views and climate.

Any special food requirements, e.g. gluten-free, vegetarian, etc., should be indicated when booking.

ACCOMMODATION

Top of the Hill is an accommodation and function complex on the Landsborough-Maleny Road just minutes from Maleny. It consists of six cabins and a main building, with a rentable unit in the main building offering facilities for disabled guests. The main building houses a commercial kitchen and indoor and outdoor dining areas, a fully-equipped bar, classically decorated lounge with fireplace, a media lounge containing wide-screen TV, as well as an outdoor kitchen with a wood-fired oven. • "We celebrated our 15th wedding at Top of the Hill. We were impressed with the our cabins that were very tastefully decorated. The privacy of the cabins were incredible & the view was amazing. The spa with a view was my request & that is what I got plus the shower. Gwenda & John are wonderful hosts who are eager to please you & to make your stay very pleasant. "

  • "11 out of 10! We booked out the whole 6 cabins so it felt like our own private getaway - absolutely magical experience. From the luxurious rooms with spectacular views & spaciosu spa to the cosy warm atmosphere of the dining room. Go to the meals with an empty stomach as the superb food just keeps coming. Gwenda's homemade muesli is delicious as is everything else that comes out of their kitchen. As hosts Gwenda and John couldn't do enough for us - we felt as if we had known them for years. If success is measured by positive word of mouth feedback then book now to avoid disappointment."

  • "A wonderful getaway experience. The cabins are very well appointed, and offer full privacy and luxury. The meals provided are delightful. The Sunday night steak was cooked to perfection, and the full range of continental and cooked breakfast an absolute treat. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the hosts lovely. We will definitely be returning to this lovely little piece of paradise."

  • "We had a wonderful 17th wedding anniversary weekend with John & Gwenda. They are wonderful hosts - the 3 course meal on Saturday was superb, & Sunday's brekky relaxing & plentiful. The cabins are magnificent - fully private with great views of the valley, spa bath, champers on arrival, & a great hard bed (important for us as Adrian as had a bad back). We will be back, & have already told our friends!"
    Lise & Adrian, April 2007

  • "A beautiful place for a weekend getaway. Each cabin has been designed to capture gorgeous valley views and an afternoon spent enjoying the view from the spa accompanied by a glass of wine is a must! The three course dinners are delightful as are your hosts, John and Gwenda."
