Tides

"We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 small boys ages 6 and 4 years) and stayed at Tides for the Christmas / New Year holidays. We had a fantastic time at Tides which was a short walk to Cameron's Bight beach. The house was exactly as we hoped for - small enough to house us comfortably for 3 weeks and with a great practical layout. The kitchen has everything you need (pots, pans, full size fridge) and even includes a proper retro milkshake machine (just like the ones we had growing up). There is a good backyard with hills hoist and also a swing set and extensive decking so you can sit outside and enjoy. The beds were deliciously comfortable and sheets were good quality Sheridan. The sofas could probably be replaced soon but overall, they were good enough for me to fall asleep on for an unplanned midday nap! Flat screen TV and DVD player was provided plus digital TV and all free to air digital channels, plus good board games like Scrabble, Mousetrap, etc. This is a great step back in time but with all modern conveniences. We highly recommend it. The beach: note that this is a dogs beach which was a source of great amusement for our sons, with some dogs doing tricks off the pier into the shallow water. The water temperature was fantastic since the water depth is so shallow for so far from shore - great for little kids but you'd have to go a fair way out to actually go for a proper swims an adult. We also recommend the Sorrento back beach which is a short drive away and if you get there before 9am in summer, you are still guaranteed a car park, front row close to the cafe which is also handy for a lunch."

"I liked the funky style and it was clean and well set up. Bit disappointed that there was no access upstairs - I thought from the photo that you could sit up on the balcony and have a view. Too far to walk to Sorrento - closer to Blairgowrie. Overall we had a lovely stay and I would go back."

"We had an amazing time. The house is absolutely stunning. Cute, Quiet, comfortable. Close to the beach. It felt like a home away from home. None of us wanted to leave.. Perfect place for winter, infront of the fire and surrounded buy trees. I have been coming down to Sorrento/ Portsea my whole life, this place really felt like home. I really Appreciated sorrento for what it was this time.I will be back to stay very soon.. :)"
