  • "A wonderful time was had by all at The Cubby House Farmstay. The views were breathtaking, the company charming and the taste of country life liberating. The children would leave only with the promise that we would return and visit the Chadwick Family at Running Stream again. 'See you again Cubby House Farm' "

  • "Our second visit over the Australia Day weekend proved again to be a wonderful relaxing experience. Our friends and their children had a great time and Claire and Daniel again proved to be excellent hosts, showing Ethan and Abby where to collect the eggs and riding around the verandah on their bikes. The 4wd ride in the back of the truck was the highlight of their weekend. The sunrise was fantastic and the night sky breathtaking. Fantastic photo taking opportunities. Looking forward to another weekend soon. Hopefully in the snow... John and Marilyn.."

  • "Our Cubby House stay was a wonderful experience for ourselves and our children who greatly enjoyed the happenings of farm life. There are few places with a view as spectacular as a Capertee Valley sunset or the clear night sky covered in a carpet of twinkling stars. The highlight of our stay was the bumpy sightseeing truck ride that took us all over the farm so we could see nature at it's best. John and Margaret are wonderful caring hosts who made our stay a fun and pleasant one."

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at "the Cubby". Breathtaking views of the Capertee valley, terrific hospitality from John and Margaret and their kids, fresh eggs, personal sheep shearing demonstrations, and a truck ride around the mountain-tops. An experience not to be missed!"

  • "Our family stayed at the Cubby House for 3 nights and it was amazing! We live busy lives in Sydney and it was good to get away and enjoy the country life at it's best. The 180 degree scenery from the wrap around veradah and more on the "Truck tour" was something to see - photos don't do it justice. John and Margaret were so hospitable as hosts, the tour of the property was informative and we even had lounge chairs in the back of the truck! Kids loved the farm animals and didn't want to leave, they loved Max and Fred the farm dogs and enjoyed playing with John and Margaret's daughter, Claire. Overall, we highly recommend this place if you have kids, or are a couple, or want to get away with friends to be refreshed and all at a great price! We'll be back!"

  • "Our young family have just enjoyed a terrific week away at The Cubby House. We all thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to experience farm life first hand. The generous hosts, John and Margaret, and their children, Clair and Daniel, warmly encouraged us to participate in many different activities. Our boys particularly loved collecting eggs, playing with the pup and the pet goat and collecting wood to light a small campfire. Kyle and I loved the comfort of the Cubby House, the beds were really comfortable and Kyle enjoyed looking after the lovely wood fire. The bush walks are spectacular and the chance to muster some sheep with John was a terrific experience for me. The Cubby House was a terrific family holiday for our family and I would highly recommend it. Cath Evans "

  • "The Cubby House far exceeded our expectations. This is a full sized 3 bedroom house with everything you need for an enjoyable, self catered holiday. The large open plan living area with its large combustion heater was always warm and cosy. The kitchen was very well appointed as was the bathroom. All 3 bedrooms were spacious with built in robes in each. The views from the front verandah were spectacular. A great place for sunrise photos. The hosts, John & Margaret were only too happy to show us around the property and pass on their knowledge of the area. We were free to wander around the property to check out the many different and unique cliffs, rock formations and even an old coal mine. Being an operational farm, there are plenty of animals wandering around to amuse kids and adults. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cubby House and would highly recommend it to those looking for a real getaway. We will definitely be back. Steve & Pam. Queensland. "

  • "What a great place to just get away and take it easy. Our hosts John and Margaret are genuinely lovely people who gave us great country/farm experience. The property has so much to offer and the views are some of the best you will see anywhere. We did several day trips to the Blue Mountains and Mudgee which we all enjoyed, but I suppose the greatest compliment I can give The Cubby House is that, unlike every other family holiday, the kids would have been more than happy spending the entire week on the farm. In fact every time we did go for a drive the kids just wanted to get back and play with the animals. Thanks for a great week John and Margaret We'll be back The Bradley's Valentine Newcastle NSW"
