Guest Facilities

Mandalay is a two storey colonial cottage with large living spaces on the ground floor and three luxurious bedrooms on the first floor. All bedrooms feature comfortable beds, quality furnishings and 32" LCD TV's.

The main bedroom features a king size Kim Snow Box design bed and has an ensuite.

The second bedroom features two single luxury beds which can be attached to form a king size bed.

The third bedroom features a king size Kim Snow Box design bed.

There is a generous lounge area which features a 42" LCD TV, DVD and surround sound system. The dining area has a large table which seats up to 8 persons and an informal lounge setting to enjoy a book or pre dinner drink.

Mandalay also features Australian contemporary art, with many interesting local and indigeneous works.

The kitchen is well equipped, with quality whitegoods and cooking implements. Also included is a Nespresso automatic coffee bar, allowing you to easily whip up a cafe latte or capuccino.

There are expansive verandahs on the ground and first floors where you can relax and take in the view.

Mandalay also provides two bicycles for use by guests.

Activities

There is much to do when you stay at Mandalay. The esplanade is 20 steps away and features excellent bike paths and walking tracks.

Located within the CBD, there are many great restaurants, cafes, shopping and the Mitchell Street bar strip close at hand.

For a Territory Adventure, Litchfield is an hours drive and an easy day trip. Kakadu is an hour and a half away. There are many fishing charters available, departing from Cullen Bay, which is about 5 mins drive from Mandalay.

Darwin has a vibrant multicultural community, with excellent markets at Mindil Beach (dry season) and Parap. There are many quality art galleries which feature local contemporary and indigenous art.

Tariff *

Based on 1-2 guests per night in one bedroom. Please add $100 per night for each additional bedroom required - Maximum 6 guests.

1st October - 30th April $395.00 - $595.00 per night
1st May - 30th September $495.00 - $695.00 per night

School holidays $770.00 per night no one / two bedroom options during this time

Christmas - New Year period minimum 5 day stay $695.00 per night.

Conditions

Minimum 2 nights stay. Non Smoking Property (smoking on balcony permitted).

For Low season rate, $ 395 per night applies to a single or couple who occupy the one room. For additional rooms, there is a charge of $ 100 per extra room used. (ie if 2 guests each require a seperate room the charge would be $495 per night).

Mandalay is booked on a whole of house basis.

A maximum of 6 guests permitted. Should you wish to invite a small number of day time visitors, please advise the Mandalay Manager.

We are happy to accommodate guests under the age of 12 but ask that they are closely supervised as Mandalay boasts much loved artifacts and artwork.

All bookings include a free bottle of wine and breakfast provisions (yoghurts, fruit, cheese, bread, butter, milk, juice, cereals etc)

Cancellation Policy

We understand that circumstances may arise where you need to cancel your reservation. Should this occur, as Mandalay is a small establishment, the following cancellation fees will apply.

If you are able to inform us of your cancellation with more than thirty (30) days notice, your deposit will be refunded less a $50.00 accounting fee.

If notice is provided between thirty (30) days and not less than fifteen (15) days, 25% of the deposit* will be retained.

If less than forteen (14) days and not less than seven (7)notice is given, 50% of the deposit* will be retained.

If cancellation notice is provided less than seven (7) days and up to one (1) day prior to the agreed check in date, 100% of the deposit* will be retained.

No cancellations are accepted on the day of arrival or after check in. You will be charged the total of the reserved stay under all circumstances.

Please note: * = The deposit is 50% of the agreed tariff on the full stay booked by the client.

The assigned date which calculates the notice period is specific to notification prior to 5.00pm CST of any day, after which the following day will be the assigned date.

Notification must be in writing either facsimilie or email and confirmed delivery is the responsibility of the Guest.
