A LITTLE ABOUT THE AREA, AND LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:

Kingscliff, located on the Tweed Coast, is a beach side township that is a popular family destination which provides beach and estuary access for swimming, surfing, fishing and water activities.

The Kingscliff Main Street Festival (known as the Art, Food and all that Jazz) is held each year in Winter. Of course the award winning restaurants and cafes are open for business most days.

Below are some local attractions and things to do in Kingscliff and surrounding areas.

*Swimming*

Take advantage of the range of swimming options available at Peppers Bale. Take a dip in the private heated lap pool and spa reserved for Beach House guests, or try the Grand Tropical Beach Lagoon at the Resort. Pepper Bale guests can use all Hotel Resort facilities.

*Beach Activities*

For a little more swimming, venture down to the Ocean beach, patrolled by the Salt Surf Life Saving Club. This is a popular destination for surfers, sun-lovers, people eager to do a little fishing, whether it be river or beach fishing, and those who just want a lazy, family holiday. The beaches in the Kingscliff area are particularly beautiful and far less crowded than the more popular beaches further north.

*Markets*

There are local farmers markets every second Saturday in the park on the Northern side of Kingscliff Bowls Club.

*Kingscliff Bowls Club*

Offers "barefoot bowls and brekky" every Sunday Morning for the novice or an ideal way to spend Sunday mornings.

*Fingal Lighthouse*

Also of interest is a walk up to Fingal Lighthouse. Park on the road just past the Fingal Trading Post and there is an easy walk along the sand tracks and up to the lighthouse, where Cook Island can be seen off shore. Also see the Giants Causeway caused when molten volcanic rock solidified as it was cooled by the ocean many years ago.

*Mt Warning*

Another pleasant walk (although a much more difficult climb) is the walk up Mt Warning (follow the signs from Murwillumbah). Allow yourself 6 hours for the climb and bring sufficient water and wear suitable walking shoes. The descent track is the same as the ascent track.

*Byron Bay, Cabarita Beach, Hastings Point*

The Tweed Townships are worth a look. Cabarita Beach has a lovely headland that you can climb, Hastings Point has a lovely inlet and headland able to be driven on with great views, and Pottsville beach has a nice inlet and river. 40 minutes drive down the coast is Byron Bay which is another day trip worth considering.

*Art Gallery*

Tweed Regional Art Gallery, the home of the Moran Art Prize. Set on a hilltop location the Gallery offers stunning, magnificent and panoramic views of the Tweed Valley, Border Ranges, Tweed River and Mt Warning. Designed by award winning Brisbane architect Bud Brannigan.

The Gallery's collection policy follows two strands: Australian portraits of all eras and media, and works that are by the region's artists or otherwise reflect aspects of life in this area. The Gallery Café is open during Gallery hours, and serves great coffee and tea, delicious cakes and light lunches. Cnr Tweed Valley Way & Mistral Road, Murwillumbah. Gallery hours Wed to Sun 10am to 5pm. Gallery admission is free.

Guest Reviews
My husband and I and my 2 year old daughter enjoyed a week's stay at this divine luxury apartment. We had stayed at Peppers before but really enjoyed this spacious Bale apartment because of the separate bedroom for our toddler. The views were fantastic and position perfect for dining out, walks on the beach and only a short drive to the centre of town. The pool area was divine and we spent most days here. I would thoroughly recommend this luxury apartment for a romantic getaway or a family break it was a perfect holiday for us.

Wonderful for a luxury family holiday, this apartment offers everything. Great accommodation with fab beach views, exclusive resort facilities, on the beach within minutes, restaurants nearby. The resort location is perfect for a family that needs some chill-out time by the pool or on the beach but is also 45 minutes to Byron or 45 minutes to the fun parks in Queensland.

A great 2 bedrm, 2 bathrm penthouse level apartment with fantastic views. Very well appointed and maintained. Great position and "village" atmosphere @ Salt with fantastic restaurants to tempt everyone. The village supermarket was also a hit. Plenty to see and do - and Qld just so closeby. And Peppers Golden Door Day Spa - well what can I say...Bliss.

This is definitely the best 2 bedroom unit at Peppers. We have stayed in others but they don't have as good an outlook and the luxury is terrific. The beach-house and resort facilities are fabulous, especially good with young children. We have had the best holiday ever in your unit, thank you. We will be regulars!
