Description

This ideal holiday home is located in Fishermans Bay, Port Stephen's best kept secret, between Anna Bay and Boat Harbour. The sandy bay is protected by an outer reef which makes it perfect for children, for swimming, snorkelling, kayaking and of course for fishing. There are wonderful bush walking tracks along the coast; and for keen surfers, Birubi Beach (where there is a surf school for new board-riders) is a few minutes drive away, as are One Mile and Samurai beaches. For golfers there are three championship courses in the area: Pacific Dunes, Horizons and Nelson Bay.

Anna Bay shops are 3 minutes drive away and Salamander Shopping Centre and the many attractions of Nelson & Shoal Bay, Salamander and Soldiers Point are about 10 drive minutes away.

Only 100 metres stroll from the beach, Fishermans Bay House features a huge upstairs living area which opens onto a large open deck overlooking a reserve and the ocean; the perfect place to sit back with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down, or in winter to watch the annual migration of the Humpback whales. The large eat-in kitchen also opens to a deck with barbecue which is ideal for outdoor dining, while other features include a second living area downstairs (a sitting room with second TV and DVD, plus a rumpus room opening to the flat grassy yard), 3 bathrooms, a separate dining room, and garage.

There are 5 bedrooms: 2 bedrooms with Queen size beds, and 3 bedrooms with 2 single beds( Single bed with another single trundle bed underneath) in each. As bed linen and towels are not included in the tariff, you can bring your own or linen hire can be arranged at an extra cost.

Some of the local attractions:

Those with 4WD vehicles can explore the beach dunes of Stockton Bight and visit Tin City and the Sygna wreck. Some may enjoy a camel trek through the dunes or horse-riding on local trails. For children and overseas visitors there is an excellent zoo farm of native and farm animals in the area.

From the wharf at Nelson Bay, you can take a ferry across the port and into the Myall River to visit Tea Gardens & Hawks Nest, or go out on whale -watching, dolphin-watching or evening dinner cruises.

Visit the Information Centre at Nelson Bay for many other suggestions.

  • "We went up in quite a large group and the proeprty was perfect. Plenty of beds, chairs and large, spacious rooms. The house is also equipped with all the living necessities (cleaning, cooking utensils etc) which makes for an easy stay. The location is quiet with great views and is not too far from other locations in Port Stephens, so there is always plenty to do! We had a great time and would recommend this house to anyone. "

  • "We were six adults and four children and Fishermans bay house was perfect. It had everything we needed from large diningroom table, big veranda, dishwasher to tumble drier. We loved the location. The little beach, that was only a 100 metres away was great for the little ones to swim in, while the adults had could relax on the beach. We enjoyed the bush walks and beautiful views. All in all a really great stay and we will be coming back for more!"
