Description

Nemuntha is a large rustic eco-friendly bushland retreat located on Mt Tallarook (otherwise known as Mt Hickey) at the gateway to the Tallarook State Forest approximately 1 hour north of Melbourne off the Hume Highway.

The retreat sits on approximately 60 acres of native Australian bushland high on the mountain with beautiful views of the valleys below.

Dogs are very welcome although there is no secure fenced area on the property. Most dogs can be secured on the rear deck of the house quite successfully. Due to the large amount of native wildlife dogs should not be allowed to roam without supervision.

The property sleeps up to 12 people in three bedrooms. Each bedroom contains the following bedding configurations:
Bedroom 1 - 1 double bed and 2 single beds
Bedroom 2 - 3 single beds
Bedroom 3 - 2 single beds and 1 set of single bunk beds
There is also a further single bed located in the corner of a living area.

The kitchen is fully stocked with cutlery, crockery and glassware, along with an assortment of utensils, bowls and pots and pans for our guests use.

There are two bathrooms, each containing a toilet and shower.

Please note that linen is not provided. Guests will need to bring their own bedding, linen and towels.

What to do

Nemuntha is a great place to do nothing. Peaceful, serene and isolated. Bring a book or a couple of DVD\'s and settle in for a great winters weekend by the fire or investigate the local area and state forest.

If you are after a bit of action, the Tallarook State Forest is at your doorstop offering picnic spots, bushwalks, rock climbing, hang gliding, trail bike riding and scenic drives. You can reach the top of Mt Hickey (also known as Mt Tallarook) by car for breathtaking views across the district.

The nearest larger townships are Seymour and Broadford, each approximately 20 minutes away by car. The historic Tallarook township is very small and approximately 10 minutes drive down the mountain.

Booking Terms and Conditions

1) A 50% booking deposit and key deposit is required at the time of booking confirmation.

2) The balance of the booking is payable in full 7 days prior to arrival. It is essential that the booking is paid in full within 7 days so that house keys can be distributed prior to arrival.

3) An $80 key deposit is required with each booking. This will be refunded in full once we have the house keys returned to us.

4) On booking confirmation, we require our guests to supply a copy of some photo identification inclusive of a current address.

We accept personal cheque, bank cheque, money order and direct deposits.
