Description

Weroona cottage is a new 1-bedroom couples retreat on 25 acres in the Megalong Valley, near Blackheath, in the Blue Mountains. Driving down to the valley is an experience in itself as you pass through the beautiful rainforest on your way to the valley floor.

Nestled in bush with breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding escarpments, you\'ll feel like you\'re a million miles from civilisation but with all the comforts and luxuries of home.

Come and \'get away from it all\' at weroona - do as little or as much as you like. Relaxation is the order of the day.

Sorry not suitable for children and no pets allowed.

Intelligent design and quality inclusions

The hexagonal cottage is fully self-contained with kitchen, ensuite and separate lounge/dining area, and has been built using solar passive principles to make it cool in summer and warm in winter.

The cottage has a very modern feel, having been built from timber and steel. The contemporary design is complimented beautifully by the polished floorboards, leadlight windows, and cosy wood fire providing all the charm you\'d expect from a classic mountains getaway.

Local attractions

Megalong Valley is famous for its horseriding, and there are also ample opportunities for bush walking and mountain bike riding nearby.

Blackheath is 15 minutes drive away and has loads of cafes, restaurants, galleries, antiques, gardens, a public golf course, and a new swimming centre.

If you want to venture further afield, its only 25 minutes drive to Katoomba; 45 minutes to the Zig Zag railway; 50 minutes to Jenolan Caves; and 2 hours to Mudgee.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Weroona cottage. The views were magnificent! The fire kept us warm and the fresh bread waiting for us on our arrival was a great touch to the whole experience. We were also lucky enough to see snow there."

  • "Weroona was the perfect place to spend the long weekend of Easter and my wedding anniversary with my husband and dog. The cottage is cosy, quiet, beautifully furnished and so homely. The view of the valley is just amazing and the log fire keeps the cottage toasty when it is cool outside. When we arrived there was home made warm bread awaiting us which was yummy after the long drive from home. The property is great for some nice walks, feels a million miles from home but only a short drive to Blackheath and Blue mountain sites. Definitely recommend a visit to Weroona, we'll back soon I'm sure. "

  • "Weroona provided a fabulous stay ! It's a beautiful one bedroom secluded property, perched overlooking the Megalong Valley. A large wrap-around verandah holds BBQ, table and chairs and (provided!) candles - setting up for a great evening. Some essential supplies (coffee, fresh bread etc) made the retreat for Sydney Weekend Warriors an easy escape. The odd lazy cow strolling below the deck added a nice touch. Thanks !"
