Description

Cubby House is perched high on a ridge with 180 degree ocean views filtered through the tree tops from Separation Creek to Wye River. Watch the ships pass or koalas shimmy from the comfort of a queen bed. This fun little house has no room for unwanted guests - just you and your favourite person. Have brekky on the deck with the king parrots, afternoon tea with the blue wrens, read that book you've been putting off on the private sun-drenched balcony, or just snooze on the love seat in the fresh air.

Nature lovers' paradise

The cubby house is walking distance to the beach and surrounded by forest, with abundant birdlife. King parrots and white cockies are usually the first to welcome you to Wye River. Don't forget to say hi to Eric the Red, he's the quizzical one. Look skywards and you'll surely see koalas and a few more feathered friends, including gang gang cockatoos (creaky door call). Blue wrens and firetail finches twitter across the ground in search of a meal. Among the less frequent visitors are echidnas and wallabies.

  • "A cozy little place with all the things you need to really get away from it all, right down to the espresso machine and bird seed for the king parrots and rosellas - which visited by the dozen! We even spotted a couple of koalas in the surrounding gum trees, which was quite exciting for a couple of New Zealanders... We'll be recommending this place to all our friends."

  • "This cozy little place was just the ticket for a relaxing weekend away. Amazing feeling up amongst all the trees. Being visited by the birds was lovely too. Spotlessly clean. Was great snuggled up on the couch with a glass of red!"

  • "Fabulous little pad in the treetops - beautifully designed and built, simple with a warm and cosy feel and a touch luxurious. King parrots visited faithfully each day, along with cockatoos, kookaburras and a koala with baby! Was perfect for us (couple and young child). Enjoyed mastering the coffee maker, well equipped for basic cooking. Great BBQ and outdoor fire for a chilly summer evening. We will definitely return."

  • "We love the cubby house, it's the perfect little place for two to spend a relaxing weekend away from it all. Going to sleep at night surrounded by stars and the sound of wind in the trees and the distant ocean, and waking up with the feeling of being in a tree house...it's wonderful. "
