Great Keppel Island Beach House

Description

The Great Keppel Island Beach House is situated only metres from Fisherman's Beach (Great Keppel Island's main beach), providing excellent sea views of Keppel Bay. With two bedrooms containing queen sized beds, a family room with double bunks and a divan which divides into 2 beds, the Beach House will comfortably sleep up to 8 people. A cot is also provided. Blankets, doonas, pillows, tea towels, crockery, cutlery and pots and pans are all provided but you will need to bring your own linen and bath towels. The Beach House features a colour TV, BBQ, gas refrigerator, and gas hot water and washing tubs. Environmentally friendly Solar panels store power for 24 hour use of the 12 volt lighting system and TV, and is backed up by a diesel generator which is run automatically each evening to give 240 volt lighting & power.

Location

Great Keppel Island is situated just off the Capricorn Coast, east of Yeppoon which is approx. 35 kms from Rockhampton in Central Queensland. Great Keppel Island offers some of the whitest beaches, clearest of blue waters and beautiful sub tropical temperatures that must be experienced to be believed.

To get to Great Keppel Island, you can travel on a fast cat from Rosslyn Bay near Yeppoon with the trip taking less than 30 minutes. Security car parking is also available from Rosslyn Bay.

When you arrive at Great Keppel Island, we will be waiting on the beach with our 4WD to carry your luggage to the Beach House.

Activities

For the energetic, there are many activities for hire including sailing, windsurfing, paddle skiing, kayaking, snorkeling, water skiing, parasailing, tube & bananna rides and even skydiving. Dinghys can also be hired from the resorts to go fishing, snorkeling, or just to have a look around. There is also good beach fishing in front of the house often catching Whiting, Trevally & Flathead, so bring your fishing gear., Walking tracks give access to the many different beaches around the Island so don't forget a good pair of walking shoes. If you just want to relax the Beach House verandah gives you a great sea view while you sip champagne to the amazing sunsets.
