Carrington Cottage is your home away from home. Located only 300m from Mount Victoria railway station, it is easily reached if you wish to leave the car at home.

North-east facing with lots of glass, the cottage enjoys the winter sun flooding in. A timber deck across the full width of the cottage overlooks the valley and gum trees towards the station.

Gas heating warms the cottage at the press of a button as well as the slow combustion wood fire allowing you to snuggle up with a good book, a glass of wine, port, sherry…(all supplied for you!)

There\'s a huge choice of things to do inside the cottage - our record collection, DVDs, videos, books galore, board games...

For warmer days, there is a gas barbecue on the deck overlooking the gums.

What is there to do in Mt Victoria?

Carrington Cottage is ideally located for bushwalking, rockclimbing in the Blue Mts National Park, visiting the Zig Zag Railway, the Jenolan Caves or the Bathurst-Orange area. 20 mins drive will have you enjoying shops and cafes in Leura, returning \'home\' to peaceful Mt Victoria.

Mt Victoria is 6 mins by car from Blackheath with its variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and many bushwalks.

The famous \'Mt Vic Flicks\' with all the latest movie releases in a quaint old-style cinema is a 5-minute stroll from the cottage.

You can explore this historic village with its railway museum, antique and book shops and enjoy great food and coffee at the renowned \'Deli n More\'. Visiting the 19th century Imperial Hotel for a coffee, drink or meal is a must.

Why should you stay with us?

We regard the cottage as our \'second home\' and trust you will enjoy it and treat it as such. Our favourite classic records are there along with classic videos and dvds (Fawlty Towers being a popular favourite!)

We leave for you all the little things you miss when not at home - tea, brewed coffee, wine cask, port, sherry, lots of spices, cooking oil etc.

Toilet paper, clingwrap, alfoil, tissues...all supplied for you.

You\'ll find plenty of firewood and kindling to keep you warm on those cold nights.

All beds - queen in main bedroom, 2 singles in 2nd bedroom and the most comfortable sofa bed ever right beside the fire in the living room - have electric blankets, woollen blankets and doonas and lots of pillows. You just need to bring your sheets, pillowslips and towels. (Special arrangements may be made for interstate/international visitors for small extra charge.)

The spacious bathroom has its own heating and is equipped with full bath and shower, toilet and vanity.

The natural slate floor in the entrance foyer welcomes you; the bedrooms and living area are carpeted.

There is a washing machine and dryer.

Guest Reviews

  • "Carrington cottage is a cosy cottage which has all the comforts of home, including comfy beds, a well-stocked kitchen, a VHS player and CD player (with lots of movies/music to choose from), electric blankets - we wanted for nothing on our brief weekend there. We appreciated all the little touches - complimentary port, marshmallows, pantry items, picnic set, maps etc - and would love to return one day. "
