Elandra is an aboriginal word meaning ‘home by the sea’. These three holiday homes are close to Pt Lookout's famous beaches - with the 20-km long Main Beach almost at the back door. The 3 separate homes are called Dune, Nautilus and Surf Mist. Each is self-contained and fully furnished. All have polished wooden floors, natural light, cross ventilation and bush views. Rent one for 1-2 families (e.g., 4 adults and 4 children)or rent all three for special events - group holidays, reunions, yoga retreats, small corporate gatherings.
Each house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. BR #1 has 1 Queen bed (sleeps two adults). BR #2 has 1 Double bed (sleeps 2 adults)with en suite bathroom. BR #3 (sleeps 4) has 1 King Single bed with 1 bunk bed & 1 trundle bed. Houses have ceiling fans, all Miele kitchen appliances, washing machine and clothes drier, TV, VCR, DVD, STEREO, parking for 1 vehicle. Weber BBQ on deck. Dining seating for 6+ inside and a second dining area for six outside. Heaters & electric blankets. Short walk to shops, bus shuttle, beaches and Gorge Walk. See dolphins and whales. Expect visits from kookaburras and wallabies from the surrounding natural reserve.
Rent all three homes and enjoy that extended family get-together, or create an intimate wedding party, a yoga retreat or cooking school, or even a corporate retreat. Together, Dune and Nautilus can sleep 16 adults/children and there is a 2-night minimum option in low season. Surf Mist can sleep 9 (1 extra king single bed). This property has a 5-night minimum in low season.

We enjoyed the stay even in the sweltering conditions. Great location, and the house has a great living area to hang out in. We hope to go back someday soon!

"Elandra is a gorgeous and unique property for a number of reasons - the three houses, situated in close proximity and linked by interconnecting paths, work wonderfully for groups looking for a communal atmosphere without sacrificing privacy. The location is to my mind unrivalled. While there are many lovely properties on Stradbroke having easy access to the beach, cafes, shops, surf club and the many wonderful walks on the headland makes moving around and exploring the island easy. The houses are beautifully designed with generous spaces which open out to the natural environment. We take a writers group to the island each year and will choose Elandra every time, it's such a lovely place for all of us to work, relax and write." Dr Sally Breen
