Manning Point is on Mitchells Island, a large island formed between the north and south arm of the Manning River.
It is a peaceful and friendly self contained seaside village that is the perfect retreat for a family holiday.
Accessed by a scenic sealed road through lush dairy country and state forest, Manning Point overlooks the glittering waters of the river and is only a dune away from the white sandy beaches of the Pacific Ocean.
Manning Point boasts clean, uncrowded sandy beaches for swimming while the river and ocean provide fishing that is amongst the best on the north coast. Take a 4WD drive (permit required) down to the beach or follow a scenic bushwalking trail through coastal rainforest.
There is an abundance of wildlife to see - koalas, goannas, frill necked lizards, rare birds, echidnas or look for whales and dolphins cruising the sea.
At times, the local marina provides a ferry service to Harrington as well as a variety of guided river cruises explaining the area's oyster industry and heritage.
Buy fresh oysters from one of the local farmers and watch your oysters being opened for you..
Manning Point is approximately 20 minutes from Taree by tar sealed roads. To get there turn off the Pacific Highway at the Southern Taree Exit towards Old Bar.
Follow Old Bar Road for approximately 15 minutes then turn left and follow the clearly marked signs to Manning Point.
