Imagine relaxing in your own private retreat:, secluded in the heart of a native Tasmanian forest breathing crisp, fresh air, drinking pure clean water and marvelling at Nature's beauty.

Newly completed, Case Verde Alpine Retreat is brand new to the holiday market. It sits on its own; a cosy, spacious, fully self-contained contemporary alpine villa set on 4.5 acres of private forest deep in the heart of the splendid Cradle Mountain wilderness region. It's just the place for you to relax, unwind, and take time out of a busy world.

Casa Verde Alpine Retreat sleeps up to 4 people. The spacious bedroom has comfortable queensize bed overlooking your own private forest. A sofa bed in the living area can accommodate another couple.

Fully self-contained, you can cook your own meals using our extensive kitchen facilities. And we can arrange breakfast and/or hamper starter pack of food to get you going, as there are no shops locally.

You can 'chill out' with one of our dvds or listen to your own music on our entertainment system.

Casa Verde Alpine Retreat at The Gateway to Cradle

Just 20 minutes from Cradle, Casa Verde Alpine Retreat at Moina is your own private retreat away from the crowd yet close enough to discover local fares and activities.

A bushwalker and photographer's paradise, in this area you'll be surrounded by nature's finest - lakes, spectacular views, mountain ranges, magnificient forests with giant treeferns and abundant wildlife. Lake Gairdner is just 2 minutes away.

And you can enjoy nature discovery walks even without leaving the property. Discover mosses, lichens and fungi, different types of ferns, the animal and bird life which changes from day to night. And the evening sky.... well, you just have to be there!

The local area offers many attractions and activities just waiting to be explored: rowing, fishing, waterfalls, wild rivers, caves, Leven Canyon and numerous walking trails both in and around the world heritage Cradle Mountain National Park.

Or you can spoil yourself with local wines, cheeses, chocolate, salmon, trout and honey: all within a 1 hour drive. And there's a superb fine-food restaurant just across the road which happily takess bookings for lunch and dinner.

If its animals and birds you want to see, Casa Verde Alpine Retreat is just the place. There's echidnas busily foraging for ants, kookaburras, rare robins and wrens and many other bird species. You can relax on our large, spacious deck and watch the wildlife as evening brings dozens of wallabies hopping through and if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the famous Tasmanian Devil or perhaps a spotted quoll!

Being centrally located at Moina, the Gateway to Cradle Country, means you can visit Cradle Mountain and maybe walk the famous trails located in the park, AND you are close enough to also explore other of Nature's spectacular offerings like the Mole Creek caves, the Walls of Jerusulem and Leven Canyon. There is majestic scenery all around with Lakes Cethana and Barrington, Black Bluff and Bell Mountain and the stunning Erriba Plateau in close proximity.

And you're close to the many other local attractions including Tazmazia, the Honey Factory and Wilmot Hills Winery.

You're also just a 30 minutes scenic drive from famous Sheffield, the 'Town of Murals' and only 1 hour from the NorthWest Coast with its towns and beaches.

If its the famous rugged West Coast with historic fishing village of Strachan and mining town of Rosebery that draws you, Casa Verde Alpine Retreat at Moina will mean its only 1.5 hours away.

At around 600 metres, you'll be on the snow-line. Snow magically transforms the whole area into a mystical white wonderland. Maybe you might want to take advantage of some 'snowplay' or snuggle by a warm fire with a good book and glass of local wine.

Getting Here

If you're flying from the Mainland, you'll probably arrive at Launceston, just 2 hours scenic drive away. Hire cars are available at the airport and a bus travels regularly to the Cradle area.

If you fly into Hobart, you'll no doubt be travelling through other magnificient regions before reaching us . If you're coming up from the West Coast, the last main town is Rosebery and it will then take approximately 1.5 hours through the spectacular Cradle Mtn National Park area to Casa Verde Alpine Retreat.

Devonport is where you arrive if you come by ferry. Take the highway to Cradle Mountain and you'll arrive here in just 1 hour.

Cradle Mountain National Park is only 20 minutes from Casa Verde Alpine Retreat which is located at the heart of the Moina Junction right at the Gateway to Cradle Country.

As there are no shops in the vicinity supplies should be purchased before arriving.
