  • "Poplars was the perfect base from which to enjoy the numerous attractions of the North East of Victoria. But it was much more than a base. We quickly discovered the homely joys of the open-fire, bbq, comfy living spaces and the immediate surroundings of Poplars was the primary source of our relaxation and joy. Thanks to Veronica and Mick for their unwavering hospitality, kindness and life-supporting free-range eggs. We'll be back."

  • "An absolutely ideal private retreat in wonderful surrounds. Adored the interior, from the superbly crafted stairs to the welcoming fireplace, complimented by great furnishings. Stepping out was like being in a magical garden, with the added bonus of superb mountain views. This is on my list of places marked - MUST RETURN Thank you Veronica and Mick Mirella"

  • "From the moment we meandered up the rustic driveway with the Wandi poplars looking on, we were hooked. The crisp mountain air, the divine drinking water, the manicured gardens, the fallen Autumn leaves, the cosy mud brick cottage, the roaring open fire and our delightful hosts, Veronica & Mick all contributed to make this weekend away a truely unforgettable experience."

  • "The house and surroundings are absolutely gorgeous, the leaves in autumn are just to die for. The house itself is very warm and welcoming, with lots of quiet, an enormous fireplace and plenty of books to look at, at your leisure. A most enjoyable weekend and I highly recommend it for anyone going to the area."

  • "The ambiance of this property was amazing. The facilities were wonderful, the outlook from the bedroom was beautiful and the open fireplace made the evenings very cosy. Our hosts couldn't have been nicer, supplying us with fresh eggs and tomatoes and even inviting us over to toast some chestnuts. This place is a real find."
