WALK, RUN, RIDE
Take the trail over the cliffs and through the dunes to Barwon Heads (undulating but pram friendly and about 6km return).
BARWON HEADS
Barwon Bluff Marine Sanctuary, Mangroves Board Walk, and Joy Flights. Give these eateries a try too: Barwon Orange (great breakfast), Star Fish Bakery (amazing soups), Ganesh (the best vegetarian meals and takeaway), At The Heads (licenced, and fine dining).
DRYSDALE
Vintage steam train ride to Queenscliff, walk around McLeods Waterholes. Try Cafe Confessions for a late breakfast or an afternoon devonshire tea.
GEELONG
Waterfront, Eastern Beach, and Botanic Gardens.
GOLF
Listed in Australia's Top 100 courses are Barwon Heads, Thirteenth Beach, Anglesea, and Lonsdale closely followed by Queenscliff and Curlewis. Torquay is also a challenging course with panoramic views.
POINT ADDIS (30 mins)
Marine National Park and bush walking.
POINT LONSDALE
Cafes, lighthouse, and great walk along the foreshore (paved, flat and friendly for prams, roller blades, scooters, and bikes).
PORTARLINGTON
The 'Ol Duke has a top notch dinner menu, friendly staff, and a great wine list.
QUEENSCLIFF
Shops, dining, or catch the Ferry across the bay to Sorrento.
THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD
Day trip to Torquay, Anglesea, Split Point Lighthouse at Aireys Inlet, and Lorne.
WALLINGTON
For the kids there's A Maze'N Things, and Adventure Park (fun water activities). If you're into gardening visit Van Loon's Nursery (the cafe is very popular too). And, for a first class dining experience visit Oakdene.
WINERIES
The cool dry climate on the Bellarine Peninsula produces some great wine. Some wineries worth a visit include Bellarine Estate, McGlashan Estate Winery, Oakdene, Scotchmans Hill Vineyards, and Spray Farm Estate.
