Broadwater is the gateway to the Margaret river wine region

Whilst still remaining close to Busselton, a major regional town with the 7 day shopping, you are on the gateway to Western Australia’s famous Margaret River wine growing region, The Presidential Bungalow is the perfect getaway spot at any time of year.

The premier attractions of the south west are close at hand, with the famous wineries, restaurants and galleries of the Margaret River region only a short drive away, many with suitable area\'s for children to play or romantic spots with views over vines, lakes and manicured gardens.

The Margaret River Wine Region is a premium boutique wine region, being responsible for just three per cent of Australia\'s wine production yet supplying no less than 20 per cent of the premium wine market. Visitors will find vineyards dotting the picturesque hillsides throughout the region. Each has its own style and ambience. In all, there are more than 200 vineyards and 80 wineries - a remarkable number considering that wine was first produced in the region just 30 years ago. Character and quality can be found in fruit-intense chardonnays, rich semillons, robust cabernets, soft merlots and other varietal wines and blends.

Highly skilled chefs have, like the winemakers, been attracted to the region by the prospect of working with high-quality produce. Invariably they are stimulated to produce dishes with flair and imagination and gourmet produce including the renowned cheese and chocolate factories are a short drive away, then Enjoy a coffee and cake in one of the quaint cafes.

The locally produced ice-cream is also sure to be a hit. Arts and crafts thrive in this stunning natural environment and there are many fine galleries and potteries to visit, each displaying unique locally produced works including paintings, sculpture, glassware and furniture. You may also have the opportunity of seeing the artisans at work. Take time out to explore the region’s natural environment and you will discover peace and tranquility.

Enjoy a stroll on one of the many pristine beaches or take a bushwalk in the magnificent unspoilt forests. The spectacular coastline also provides for excellent surfing and diving. Keen fishers will find plenty of great fishing spots including the spectacular Busselton jetty; at 2km in length, it’s the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere and a tourist attraction in its own right.

Family Fun all within a short drive from the Presidential Bungalow

All stays between Feb and Nov09 receive a free family pass (2A+3C) to the Wonky windmill farm and Eco Park, a family business located in a peaceful rural setting just a short drive from the Presidential Bungalow. There are a variety of farm animals for viewing and feeding such as pigs, ponies, emus, ostrich, llamas, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, deer, chickens geese ducks, peacock and different breeds of cows sheep and goats. Browse through the farm shop and take the opportunity to taste the range of extra virgin olive oils, marinated olives and delicious jams and preserves. Enjoy a Devonshire tea on our shady lawns or bring a picnic. Open 10- 4pm daily.

The Busselton region is an ideal destination for families, offering a range of different activities, attractions, tours, accommodation and restaurants to suit the whole family. Geographe Bay’s beaches from Busselton through to Dunsborough provide calm, safe water for families to enjoy. Water activities such as snorkelling, swimming, boating, fishing, body boarding and diving are popular in the area for this reason.
