Broadwater is the gateway to the Margaret river wine region

Whilst still remaining close to Busselton, a major regional town with 7 day shopping, you are on the gateway to Western Australia’s famous Margaret River wine growing region, The Presidential Bungalow is the perfect getaway spot at any time of year.

The premier attractions of the south west are close at hand, with the famous wineries, restaurants and galleries of the Margaret River region only a short drive away, many with suitable area's for children to play or romantic spots with views over vines, lakes and manicured gardens.

The Margaret River Wine Region is just a few minutes from the Presidential Bungalow. A premium boutique wine region, being responsible for just 3% of Australia's wine production yet supplying no less than 20% of the premium wine market. Visitors will find vineyards dotting the picturesque hillsides throughout the region. Each has its own style and ambience. In all, there are more than 200 vineyards and 80 wineries - a remarkable number considering that wine was first produced in the region just 30 years ago. Character and quality can be found in fruit-intense chardonnays, rich Semillons, robust Cabernets, soft Merlots and other varietal wines and blends.

Highly skilled chefs have, like the winemakers, been attracted to the region by the prospect of working with high-quality produce. Invariably they are stimulated to produce dishes with flair and imagination and gourmet produce including the renowned cheese and chocolate factories are a short drive from the Presidential Bungalow, then enjoy a coffee and cake in one of the quaint cafes.

The locally produced ice-cream is also sure to be a hit. Arts and crafts thrive in this stunning natural environment and there are many fine galleries and potteries to visit, each displaying unique locally produced works including paintings, sculpture, glassware and furniture. You may also have the opportunity of seeing the artisans at work. Take time out to explore the region’s natural environment and you will discover peace and tranquillity.

Enjoy a stroll on one of the many pristine beaches or take a bushwalk in the magnificent unspoilt forests. The Presidential Bungalow is located on the spectacular Geograph Bay. The coastline also provides for excellent surfing and diving. Keen fishers will find plenty of great fishing spots including the spectacular Busselton jetty; having been at 2km in length, it’s the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere and a tourist attraction in its own right.

Family Fun all within a short drive from the Presidential Bungalow

The Wonky Windmill Farm and Eco Park is a family business located in a peaceful rural setting just a short drive from the Presidential Bungalow. There are a variety of farm animals for viewing and feeding such as pigs, ponies, emus, ostrich, llamas, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, deer, chickens geese ducks, peacock and different breeds of cows sheep and goats. Browse through the farm shop and take the opportunity to taste the range of extra virgin olive oils, marinated olives and delicious jams and preserves. Enjoy a Devonshire tea on our shady lawns or bring a picnic. Open 10- 4pm daily.

The Busselton region is an ideal destination for families, offering a range of different activities, attractions, tours, accommodation and restaurants to suit the whole family. Geographe Bay’s beaches from Busselton through to Dunsborough provide calm, safe water for families to enjoy. Water activities such as snorkelling, swimming, boating, fishing, body boarding and diving are popular in the area for this reason.

  • "Property was absolutely fantastic for a breakaway with the family. My parents, husband and kids just loved the place. Everything was clean, tidy, easy access to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed the facilities, mainly both of the pools/spa. We would highly recommend the place and will certainly look to return in the near future. "

  • "This was a great place to stay. It was easy to finalise the booking arrangements and the facilities on offer at the resort were fantastic for children. Even though we had not booked through the resort the staff there were friendly and helpful. Not sure when we will get back to Busselton but if we do then this is the place we will be staying! "

  • "Had a fantastic 2 day visit. Lovely apartment, clean, well appointed, comfortable, recently refurbished with a small backyard. Beds and pillows comfortable. The complex has excellents facilities including a heated indoor pool and spa and a kids play room. The visiting possums were a highlight and we even hand fed a friendly baby possum sitting in the frangipani tree outside the apartment. We will definately stay at this location again."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Presidential Bungalow. The apartment was roomy, clean and modern. It was exactly what we were looking for. The actual resort is perfect for kids as theres so much to do to keep them amused ie. Games rooms/pool /tennis etc. It was great. We will most definitely stay at the Presidential Bungalow again on our next visit to the Southwest. "

  • "Clean, Spacious apartment, part of a resort complex, very quiet and within a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Great spot for kids, kids loved the pool and play room. Resort is approx 10 minutes in the car from the main street which didn't bothered us as we had a hire car. Would definately stay at the Presidential Bungalow again and highly recommend it!!"

  • " Our stay in the bungalow was AMAZING! We found the apartment to be tastefully decorated and clean, and I must say the bathroom spa is brilliant. The fully equipped kitchen, family area and backyard make for a fuss free holiday. It was great for the boys who wanted to play video games in the apartment and the others who wanted to go out and explore. The resort had brilliant facilities like; pool, spa, courts and was only a short distance to the beach, shops and only a short drive to other towns (like Yallingup or Margaret River). The owner and resort staff were brilliant throughout the stay and always responded promptly and we found the bungalow to be reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone. Louise "

  • "Excellent location, walk to beach was only a couple of minutes and it was right next to cycle path so excellent and safe for kids to take their bikes. Quality of accomodation was great, well furnished, modern and spotlessly clean. Nice swimming pool area and pool room. No restaurant available on site but walkable (5 mins) to take away for pizza, chinese, indian and fish and chips. Walkable to restaurant at broadwater beach resort which had good quality meals and excellent service, open for breakfast lunch and dinner.Easy drive to Margaret river and further south to cape Lewin. I would have no hesitation on booking this appartment again and would highly recommend to others."
