  • "Our brief stay at Shack 14 was a pleasurable experience.Wonderfully peaceful yet close enough to country markets and providores to stock up with local produce and then hide away."

  • "Shack 14 is an idyllic building set in a natural setting. The kangaroos think so. The photos on the net don't do justice to the building, the thick fluffy towels or the great bedding, the fully equiped kitchen or the solid regard to leaving as little footprint on the surrounding area. A great place to recharge the batteries."

  • "Amazing property, true 5 star indoor camping. Architecturally stunning with eco friendly features and lots of detail that's often missed in a holiday rental. Exceptionally well appointed with mod cons and a even an actual Ipod friendly stereo that sounds amazing. The setting is tranquil as the property sits at the end of a winding dirt track which can make the last 50m to the property challenging in the wet. Overal very a comfortable stay and Ben was very helpful "
    Andrew, August 2011

  • "We had a lovely stay at Shack 14 - so many places we've stayed have been under-equipped, but not this one. Everything we needed was there for a comfortable experience. Lots of lovely magazines and books to read, all the right kitchen utensils, and, most importantly of all, a wonderfully relaxing location. The kangaroos greeted us in the morning, the bush was wonderfully peaceful, and the walking trails into the nearby national park were fabulous. We'll be back - thanks!"

  • "Our stay at Shack 14 was so lovely, it was just what we were looking for: a beautiful secluded spot tucked away in the bush but very close to Castlemaine. The shack itself is a perfect combination of modern luxury and eco-awareness. I can't wait to come back to it soon. Also, the walks around the shack were gorgeous, and we saw kangaroos and wallabies from the kitchen window. Thank you for such a lovely weekend! "

  • "Thank you so much for our stay at Shack 14. What an amazing location, an amazing building and a wonderful weekend away. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with lots of relaxing, walks along the gorgeous bush tracks and visiting the nearby towns."

  • "A great little retreat to escape to. "

  • "This is a lovely spot; private and nicely set up. We visited on one of the hottest weekends of the year - the place coped OK, but we could have done with a fan (there is aircon installed but that felt like overkill and not in keeping with the eco-ethos). Overall verdict: Classy."
    Steven, February 2010

  • "This place has much to recommend it: modern and stylish; well-equipped; extremely comfortable and clean; private location in the bush; fresh breakfast supplies delivered by a friendly host. Best of all, the glass living-room wall opens up completely onto a spacious deck with a great view. Will look forward to a return visit!"
