Guest Reviews

  • "What a lovely relaxing weekend! The shack is fitted out with everything you need for a peaceful and cosy retreat from the rush of modern life. Close to Castlemaine too if you need a bit of retail therapy or a meal at a nice restaurant. Highly recommended!"
    Jacqui, June 2009

  • "Shack 14 is truly spectacular. What a unique experience! The simple clean line concept with those beautiful glass doors was impressive also. We wanted to find somewhere to unwind and escape and that is exactly what we found at Shack 14. No tv and no phone coverage meant lots of time for books, walks, conversation and cuddles with our 8 month old baby. A huge thank you to Ben for running out and buying a microwave for us so we could sterilize the bottles... We have already recommend Shack 14 to a number of people and we will definitely return ourselves. Thank you for sharing your magnificent land.. The Finlay family - Matt, Rebecca and Charlton ps) We are serious about returning and next time staying for longer.."

  • ""Shack" doesn't seem the right word for this warm, tranquil, and beautiful modern space among the trees. We breathed deep, took time, read books and slept well, the connection with the views ever present. Just beautiful."
    Kelly, August 2008

  • "A lovely place in the middle of nature. Every little detail was thought of. Would have loved to stay longer and read all the great books. We will certainly return."
    Gretha, August 2008

  • "Absolutely wonderful bush retreat. Sumptious but not over the top. The owner, Ben, is so accomodating. The peace and tranquility are something undescribable. The bush setting is perfect, but not too far for a walk to something happening. All this and its eco efficient aswell. "
