With 3 bedrooms, large wrap around balcony with 180 degree river views, and private jetty access - right next to one of the best fishing spots on the river – you will need to bring little more than your basic food and clothing needs to complete your perfect break away from the noise and rush of the big smoke.

The perfect place to go to rewind, relax and rejuvenate.

Bar Point

Bar Point is a boat access river settlement approximately 10 kilometers inland from the F3 Newcastle - Sydney Freeway.

The area is extremely popular as a weekend destination, being just a few minutes further upstream from Milson's Passage by boat, & therefore relatively quick to reach from Sydney. Most people come here simply to relax by the river & watch the tide go up & down.

For those wishing to explore the area by boat, there is no shortage of winding creeks, river foreshore & sandy river beaches.

Between Bar Point & Spencer there are a couple of wonderful tidal creeks, filled with wetland birds...& fish on a good day. Always enter tidal creeks on a rising tide!!!! There are also a few sandy river beaches nearby, also only accessible by boat.

Spencer, a sleepy riverfront township, is a highly recommended destination some 10km further upstream by boat. Opposite Spencer, Gentlemans Halt in Marra Marra National Park (only reached by boat) is a fine place to tie up for a picnic....make sure your ropes are tied to allow for changes in the tide.

The peninsula of Bar Point extends some 4 kilometres from end to end. Except for a cluster of houses right on the point 'Bar Point Estate', the only way to get from house to house is by boat.

Bar Point is great as a base for exploring the river by boat.

How To Get There

The Hawkesbury House is water only access.
The property has its own private jetty.
You can find your way there by launching at any of the nearby ramps if you have your own boat, otherwise there are several other options with water taxis and the occasional ferry available, as well as boat hire at nearby Brooklyn.
