When you walk through the front door of The White House, your holiday experience will begin. This tri-level architectually designed east-facing house on a level block, is elevated to enjoy lake and ocean views to Sandbar and Seal Rocks.

The ground floor features entrance area, opening to a large laundry, washing machine, dryer, 2nd 500l fridge, separate toilet and shower.

Walk upstairs to your living level. Huge open plan area with kitchen, dining and lounge area, sliding glass door to covered verandah with outdoor setting, gas BBQ and views. Second level has reverse cycle air conditioning, cathedral ceilings and fans in all bedrooms and living areas. There are fly screens on all windows and there are screen doors to the verandah, creating an ideal breezeway throughout the house.

The kitchen is supplied with everything you need to cook with, from a gourmet dinner to cakes and muffins. There is also a variety of serving dishes to making entertaining easy. In the lounge area is a sony high definition flat screen 96cm TV with DVD/VHS and a huge VHS library for all ages. Also supplied is a CD player with radio. We have a variety of CD\'s but it may not be to your taste so bring along some of your own music. There is also a small library of books and some children\'s books along with playing cards and board games. The dining area features a large table with seating for 8 and at the breakfast bar are 4 bar stools.

A large parent\'s retreat on the east wing features queen size bed, walk-in-robe and en-suite. The south wing houses a corridor with 2 bedrooms, one with bunk beds, and the other bedroom at the end of the south wing has a double bed. All bedrooms have built in robes. The bathroom is 3-way, with full bath and separate shower. This is ideal as if someone is showering, someone can be in the toilet whilst another is doing their hair at the large vanity. Off this corridor area is another glass sliding door to the verandah.

The loft area has 2 single beds and is a great hangout for teenagers or young children. There is a 51cm TV with Nintendo 64, controllers, games, beanbags and a large toy tub for children aged between 3 to 12.

Under the house is a large concreted area surrounded by lattice work and lockable gates making it ideal storage for your boat or jetski. There is off-street parking in the driveway for 3 cars. At the back of the house is a large back garden which opens into a nature reserve and at the front of the house is a lovely tropical front garden with views.

We have toddler gates and locks for kitchen cupboards so please advise if you would like these supplied.

Also supplied is a compendium with all the advice you need for the house along with a map, list of restaurants, cafes and activities to try in the area.

Please supply your own linen. We supply, pillows, summer blankets and doona\'s.

Location and Beaches

Smiths Lake is situated between Myall and Wallis Lakes and makes up part of the Great Lakes. The area is called Pacific Palms and is 20 minutes south of Forster. Smiths Lake is quite unique as it is separated from the ocean by a natural sandbar making it ideal and safe for water activities such as swimming, sailing, kayaking, water skiing, wind and kite surfing. Frothy Coffee boat shed is a 10 minute walk, 2 minutes by car where boat hire is available. It is a very popular spot on the lake with free BBQ facilities, children\'s playground and safe lake beach.

The closest ocean beach is Cellito which is accessed via a board walk through coastal rain forest. Five minutes north east from Smiths Lake are the fabulous beaches of Pacific Palms. Blueys, Boomerang, Shellies and Elizabeth. A ten minute drive south are the beautiful beaches at Seal Rocks, Number One, Boat and Lighthouse beaches. There is a beautiful picnic area at Seal Rocks Lighthouse where in the winter months, you can see the whales migrating north.

Smiths Lake is a 3 hour drive from Sydney Central, 2 hour drive from Newcastle and a 7 hour drive from Brisbane.

Activities, Local Attractions and Eats

4WD trails with access to remote beaches. Two theme parks are in the area, Big Buzz and Ton Of Fun. Boat cruises for dolphin or whale watching. 3 Cinema Complex at Tuncurry. Horse Riding at Coomba or Nabiac. The Green Cathedral on the lake at Tiona, very popular for weddings. The local 9 hole golf course at Sandbar. Seal Rocks Lighthouse, bookings for tours in advance. Frothy Coffee Cafe for light snacks and lunch.

The local village shops at Smiths Lake is less than a 5 minute walk from The White House. It caters for most of your needs including a butcher, baker, general and liquor stores, hairdresser and a fabulous coffee shop that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Smiths Lake Bowling Club is on Macwood Road and Pacific Palms Recreation Club is on Wallis Lake where lunch and dinner is available.
