Description

Charming Agave Lodge is a lovely 4 bedroom traditional beach house providing the perfect accommodation for families or groups wanting a quick escape from the city. Located in secluded St Andrews Beach, just 80km from the CBD, the enviable position of this property makes it ideal for year-round getaways. Accessible to both Port Philip and Western Port Bays, the central location of St Andrews Beach makes it an easy drive to Sorrento, Portsea, Flinders, Red Hill, and Cape Schanck.

Picturesque St Andrews Ocean Beach is a pleasant 5 minute walk away, while Gunnamatta Beach, famous for its surf and horse riding is a short 10 minute drive. Numerous recreation and relaxation facilities are within reach, such as golf courses, thermal spa, fine restaurants, and of course the Mornington Peninsula’s popular wineries.

Enjoy the convenience of shopping facilities at Rye, just 10 minutes away, with the luxury of being able to return to the peace and tranquility of Agave Lodge. The nearby Milk Bar provides convenience within walking distance, avoiding the lengthy supermarket queues of January. Other nearby recreation facilities suitable for children and families include the seasonal carnival on the Rye foreshore, the Rosebud cinema, Mini-golf, and the safety beaches of Port Philip Bay.

Positioned on a spacious 1000 sqm block dotted with native trees, the house itself was renovated 3 years ago. The characteristic house features sunny light-filled living areas that open out onto outdoor decking with seating for 8, and a gas BBQ. The four bedrooms and generous bathroom comfortably accommodate up to 8 people, with 2 double beds, and 4 single beds in total, while the extensive DVD collection, board games, and fireplace keep everyone entertained well into the evening. Longer stays are made easier with the washing machine facility. Guests are encouraged to bring their own towels and bed linen, although it can be arranged at an extra cost. Pets are welcome, however fencing around the property may not be adequately secure for dogs.

Agave Lodge’s idyllic location, ample facilities and convenience to the entire Mornington Peninsula make it the perfect base for a holiday any time of year. With activities to suit all types of weather and interests, you are certain to have a great time with everything on offer here. And like our many regular guests, you will be sure to return again soon!

Guest Reviews

  • "Had a lovely stay in March 2009. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Quiet but still fairly convenient location to base yourself in Mornington Peninsula. A very peaceful backyard. A hassle-free process from enquiry till the end of the stay. Would love to go back again. Thank you Adam! "

  • "A perfect getaway close to Melbourne. In a quiet location away from the crowds, but close enough to all beaches. Comfortable and clean with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Highly recommended."

  • "Absolutely fantastic - lovely beach house with all the mod cons, close to the beach, plenty of room for our daughter, convenient to the vineyards, beaches etc - we really enjoyed our stay and will definately be staying there again next time we come to Mornington Peninsula!"

  • "What a wonderful place we had such a nice stay. Close to the Beach yet away from people. Warm fireplace kept us cosy all weekend. Easy to get to what more could you ask for. "

  • "My friends and I truly enjoyed the accommodation. The location was great, very close to the beach and hot spring. I want to personally thank Adam for being so helpful and made the whole booking process so easy. We will defiantly come back again!"

  • "We visited on what were probably the two coldest nights this winter and the house was warm and cosy, with two different heat sources - especially a Coonara with red gum logs! We were delighted with the fresh, white, simple decor and found the house extremely comfortable, quiet, and tranquil. In fact, we hardly left, staying in to cook all our meals and just relax, listen to music and talk. The very wild St Andrews Beach is a short walk away and we had a look at the spectacular sight. We went out to the nearby hot springs for a long soak and the fact that it is a five minute drive home is a real plus. Briliant! We certainly intend to come again."

  • "We enjoyed our stay. The house had plenty of space in the living area which meant we could spend time in our group of 8 socialising comfortably. Beds were absolutly great. We were at a convention in Blairgowrie, so only spent minimal time at the house but it was exactly what we wanted, a comfortable, warm place to base ourselves at a reasonable price."
