Description

Bay View is a fully furnished holiday home situated in the heart of the Bayside on Cleveland Point with the ocean to the front and rear of the property giving breathtaking views across to Stradbroke Island.

This renovated Queenslander home allows you to experience real Bayside living with the cooling sea breezes, fantastic sunsets and the best that waterside living delivers. Suitable for those on holiday and for those relocating to the area.

Relax on the verandah whilst you look out for passing dolphin or perhaps visit one of the nearby high quality restaurants like the \'Cleveland Lighthouse Restaurant\' just a 200m walk from the house.

Overview

This refurbished (Nov 2007) Queenslander beach house offers a great holiday experience and is the perfect setting for your relaxing getaway. Being on a peninsula the back yard backs onto the waters of Moreton Bay overlooking Raby Bay and Ormiston and the front looks out over the water to Stradbroke Island.

The 3 bedroomed home will comfortably sleep 6 people in 2x Queen beds and 2x single beds. A full bed linen service is provided including sheets, doonas, pillows. Bath towels are also provided. Guests are asked to bring their own beach towels - these can be provided for an additional charge if preferred. One of the Queen bedrooms has a good sized annexe room. This room contains two wardrobes and plenty of extra room for storage or, for families with a baby, to have the travel cot. Each bedroom has a radio alarm clock. In the cooler months blankets are available and all beds have new fitted electric blankets.

The main lounge with TV, DVD player and VCR is towards the rear of the property and has reverse cycle air conditioning for cooling/heating. At the rear of the house overlooking the Bay and garden is the dining area and fully self-contained modern kitchen with all new appliances.

The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, single oven and electric hob, plenty of cutlery, plates and glasses, steamer, mixer, toaster, kettle, etc. There is also a washing machine and dryer, iron and ironing board for your convenience. A high-chair and travel cot can be provided if requested. The modern bathroom offers both a shower and a bath.

At the front of the house is another sitting area. For the early birds have your morning coffee here whilst you watch the sun rise over Stradbroke Island. A selection of games and books is also provided for your enjoyment.

Sit back and relax on the back verandah taking in the spectacular sunsets and spot any passing dolphins. With a BBQ provided this outdoor setting is ideal for entertaining. When the tide is out there remains a small sandy area that can be accessed via a fixed steel ladder. When the tide is in why not cast a line out and see if you can catch dinner!

Please note that children are welcome but this house is located right on the waterfront - the back garden ends at the sea! There is no barrier between the garden and the water - this home may therefore not suit all families.

Local Attractions & Things to do

The beautiful Stradbroke Island is only a 30 minute ferry journey away with the port just a short 5 minute drive away from the house. Stradbroke is a water lovers playground with fantastic sandy beaches, surfing and nature walks through to a system of freshwater lakes in the island\'s centre that provides beautiful picnic and swimming spots. Visit and experience one of the Bayside\'s finest dining and lifestyle hubs - the Raby Bay Harbour. Just a 5 minute drive away.

Relax and enjoy a drink and a meal at the oldest licensed pub in Queensland - The Grand View Hotel. Have a sumptious meal at the The Old Courthouse Restaurant and see if you can spot the ghost that is said to reside there. Both restaurants are only 2 minutes drive away.

Visit the art galleries, Redland museum, historic Ormiston House. Go Koala spotting or bushwalking. Take a boat trip out onto Moreton Bay and enjoy a day of fishing, adventure sailing or deep sea charter. Paddle, swim or windsurf - it\'s all available on the Bay.

If it\'s a bit of pampering you desire then head to one of a number of local spas.

The entertaiment hub of the Gold Coast is only a 40 minute drive. Visit Wet \'n\' Wild, Sea World, Dream World or see the exciting Outback Spectacular.

Spend a day in the city. Brisbane centre is only 40 minutes drive or an hours journey by train from Cleveland Railway Station.

Guest Reviews

  • "An absolute Jewel in the Crown of Brisbane Accomodation. "
    Carl, May 2009

  • "For a visitor to the Brisbane area Bay View has an ideal location for day trips to the Stradbroke Island, the National Parks and into the city. The accommodation is spacious, clean and very comfortable with all the 'mod cons' required by today's more demanding traveller. Great views across Morton Bay both front and back! "

  • "This house is just beautiful. We have a wonderful time and the kids just loved the solider crabs out the back. It was beautiful watching the storms come across the bay. We will stay here again on our next holiday back to Brisbane. We are going to tell all our friends about this little gem on the bay."

  • "The venue & facilities really are exceptional: well equipped; beautifully decorated; clean; comfortable. Some of my Queensland relatives came for afternoon tea before the wedding on Sunday & were deeply jealous that we had found such a beaut place to stay. I think the jealousy stemmed from the fact that 'out-of-towners' had somehow managed to find a gem that the locals hadn't known about. Bay View will definitely be my family's first choice in accommodation for any future trips to Queensland."

  • "A really wonderful spot, we found Bayview was really comfy, with lots of extras making it a real home from home. It a unique benfit of being able to watch the sun go down over the ocean, as the garden is west facing and fairly rare on the east coast of Australia. Our children where on the beach most mornings at 6 in their pyjamas watching for blue crabs or collecting shells! We stayed at Bayview when we first came to Australia to live and would have stayed longer had it not been booked up by other guests! Very welcoming hosts too! Highly recommended. "
