A peaceful retreat, set on 5 acres of land adjoining Kinglake National Park. Our 4 bedroom mudbrick holiday house is located in a secluded valley just 1 km off the Melba Hwy, the Castella Country Retreat (“CCR”) is an easily accessible getaway, just a little over an hours drive from Melbourne’s CBD. If wine tasting or site seeing is your thing, CCR is a great place to base your stay in the Yarra Valley.

Wake to the laugh of the Kookaburra’s and enjoy an array of birdlife which fill the stringybark gums throughout the day. Keep an eye out for wild ducks, echidnas, wombats and kangaroo\'s who frequent our dams and paddocks. CCR is a fabulous way to enjoy the Yarra Valley and the great Australian Bush.

Local attractions include numerous wineries (some with great restaurants), great scenery, walking trails, waterfalls, cafes, quaint local towns, Healesville Sanctuary, the Yarra Glen & Healesville Race Track and the RACV Country Golf Club.

With 4 bedrooms and two living area\'s CCR is great for a girls weekend away, family\'s and groups of friends.

Families with young children will need to take care, there are two dams located on the property.

The Accommodation & Household Features

Our 4 bedroom mud brick holiday house is full of character and charm and comfortably furnished for couples, families and groups of up to 8. Two bedrooms offer queen sized beds, with the 3rd and 4th bedrooms offering 2 single beds each. The laundry houses a 2nd shower and toilet to cater for the larger groups.

Bed linen is provided, however you do NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS.

A fully equipped kitchen and dining table for 8 makes self catering simple. Spacious living areas provide plenty of “inside” space for the larger groups (or the kids on a rainy afternoon).

Household Features:

- Fully equipped kitchen (with the basic cooking essentials eg salt, pepper, oil);
- Open fire and a stack of fire wood & kindling;
- A cupboard full of board games;
- TV, DVD & CD player;
- Washing machine, iron & ironing board;
