41 on MONA Holiday and Fishing Cottage

41 on MONA is not your standard cottage. The cottage has been fitted out with high quality furnishings. It includes 2 queen size beds, dble bed and bunk, all fitted with woollen underlays, divan, baby's cot and high chair. The cottage is relatively large and can easily accommodate 2 families comfortably. No expense has been spared in ensuring that your stay is as comfortable and relaxing as possble.

The cottage is airconditioned and has a full size air hockey table to keep the kids occupied for hours. The truth be known at times it is more difficult for the kids to get on as the adults seem to have more fun. The cottage has an 80cm LCD colour TV with HD and DVD connection. Reception is nothing short of great. The kitchen has all the utensils and appliances possible including a microwave oven, upright fridge, upright freezer and chest freezer (for ice and fish).

The house maybe an old Cane Cutters cottage but the renovations have lifted the standard well above what is expected.

Best Accommodation in the Beaches Area

Local real estates have tagged the cottage as the best available in the region. The bathroom and kitchen areas have been renovated and the cottage has ample room to entertain and relax. There is nothing else like it in the area.

You can relax on the verandah and enjoy a cool beer and BBQ on a warm balmy summers night after a days fishing. There is undercover parking for the car and ample parking for the boats. The cottage is fully fenced and has security screens all round, not that you need them as the area is a quiet and friendly community.

The cottage is located only 300m from the tranquil village of Halifax. Halifax has 2 pubs, butchers, paper shop, convenience store, Post Office, hardware, hair dressers, tackle store and service station. There is also a golf club and lawn bowls club close by that cater for and welcome visitors.

The village also has it's own Police, Fire and Ambulance stations. Ingham is the major regional town and is located 15 minutes from Halifax. The town has a hospital, medical centre and ample shops to wander or maybe sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee at one of the many cafes available.

Lucinda the Gateway to Hinchinbrook Island and the Great Barrier Reef

Hinchinbrook Island is renowned for it's great fishing qualities, you could stay for a month and still not have fished all that the area has to offer. A maze of river systems houses all the tropical species known, while the reef and islands sit just off shore beckoning your visit. The famous sugar jetty houses some of the best fishing known, Mackeral, Queenfish, Fingermark Bream and Trevally all call the jetty home.

The cottage is centrally located to three major boat ramps. The Mona Road ramp is located on the banks of the Herbert River and is only 3 min from the cottage. Dungeness boat ramp is the major ramp for the district located at Lucinda and is only 9 min from the cottage. Taylors Beach boat ramp is 12 min away and is located on Victoria Creek which is a clean water creek which houses some of the best barra fishing in the district.

Located just off the mainland are the Palm Islands. A collection of islands that are purely spectacular in sight and fishing. Cruise around the islands and take in their natural beauty. No matter where you wish to go it isn't far from the cottage.

Take in all the splender of the area as you wander down one of the many beaches available. Take the dog for a walk to the spit and enjoy the freedom of exploring the small dunes and fish life in the shallows. Or maybe visit Zoe Bay waterfall and hand feed the Jungle Perch.
