The River House offers spacious contemporary and elegant accommodation for the discerning adult traveller. Set in two hectares of mature gardens and Australian bush; The River House is in a wonderful spot, not quite in the city, not quite in the country but rather where they both meet.

We are able to offer a range of accommodation styles with three rooms, all in house. You are able to choose from deluxe B&B rooms, one self catering studio room and one 1 bedroom apartment with full kitchen, all newly refurbished with queen sized beds and chic ensuites.
Included in the tariff are full provisions to create a gourmet breakfast for the Apartment, whilst guests in the traditional B&B room and the Studio are catered for with a complimentary gourmet continental and cooked breakfast.
For your enjoyment you will find quality bed linen, a pillow menu, bathrobes for use during your stay and rooms serviced daily. All rooms have LCD televisions, DVD players and internet connection.
Private exterior entries and outdoor tables and chairs are available for most rooms, with a large dining table at the BBQ and also on the river view deck for alfresco dining options.
The River House is an easy twelve minute country drive on the East Tamar Highway from Launceston CBD. The City offers a varied and enjoyable shopping experience, wonderful dining options, a wide range of beautiful historic buildings, the great Cataract Gorge, Boag's brewery and the Inveresk and Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, to mention just a few reasons for a city visit. Of course it may be that you will spend this travelling time to get to a favorite football game at Aurora Stadium.
Just a few minutes away is a newly refurbished cafe allowing the purchase of general supplies as well as gourmet provisions and meals. Further on at Windermere jetty is St Mathias Church, one of the oldest consecrated churches in Australia to have held continuous religious services. Travelling on towards George Town is the settlement of Hillwood where you will find a strawberry farm, orchards and wineries to slow you down and provide just one more pleasant detour.
