Description

Seal Rocks is a raw and ruggedly beautiful place on the NSW North Coast. ‘Lot 3’ is a beach house designed and built by Castlepeake to embrace the qualities of the area. It is constructed of raw materials including rammed earth, polished concrete, plywood sheet, galvanised steel and corrugated iron and offers a different experience to the conventional house. It is made up of two separate pavilions which open to a private grassed courtyard and the national park beyond.

The house sleeps 10 comfortably in two queen sized bedrooms and a large bunk room which contains 6 custom-made bunks. It has a large open plan living / dining area, two bathrooms (one with a freestanding bath) and a small laundry.

‘Lot 3’ is 500 metres to Boat Beach and has close access to 4 other untouched beaches including well known surf spots Treachery and Yagon. There are beautiful bush walks including one to Sugarloaf Point lighthouse and easy access to nearby Myall Lake. The area is also well known for its diving, snorkeling and fishing.

  • "Thank you SO much. We just LOVED Lot 3!! That was our 1st holiday as 5 (my youngest is 10 weeks) & we found Lot 3 to be not only architecturally stunning but also very kid friendly. We could see the kids wherever we were & they loved running down the grassy knoll! We also really loved the use of concrete throughout which also kept the house surprisingly cool. GREAT house, we will be back."

Even if we went smack bang in the middle of Winter, the house was so warm and cosy we found it hard to spend time outside!! The owners are very friendly and will do their best to ensure that your stay is as pleasant as it can be. The fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, ample supply of firewood and entertainment will cater for all groups and families and for any occasion. Will definitely be back!"

We so loved staying there - such an eloquent suite of spaces from that compact entry to the largess of the living space, the breezeway for dining, the beautiful garden pavilion and the garden outlook. The choice of materials need no adornment as we watched the morning and evening light on those earthy, concrete walls. And no paint! Domestic architecture at its best. So thank you, we had a great stay and will come back next year. Seal Rocks is a treat with so many beaches, wonderful bush walks and lakes... "
