On Tourist Drive 32, the Nimbin Road, on the northern outskirts of Lismore City, lies an original 1930s Art Deco 2-bedroom Queenslander farm house with a log fire and own swimming pool.

There are no other holiday-makers on this quiet and peaceful 5-acre property which means you have the large, salt-water swimming pool with covered timber deck all to yourselves during the swimming season.

It's very accessible and easily found providing a central base for Lismore & Byron Bay's Rainbow Region.

It's handy to Nimbin village 12km further up the road and Lismore City 18km (15mins) south from which Byron Bay can be reached in 40 minutes. A bus stop is at the front gates for local buses, tourist coaches and the Nimbin-Byron Shuttle.

Inside this grand country house, gracious rooms are perfectly complemented by extensive contemporary facilities.

Getting away ... in comfort

A fully-equipped kitchen (pictured) with stainless steel appliances including dishwasher is available to prepare meals that can be enjoyed in the large country-elegant dining room (pictured) or, more casually, on one of the three verandas.

The lounge room features a log fire (pictured), a bay window, ceiling fan and French doors. It has a High Definition digital digital 32" (1366x768) LCD eco-friendly Television with DTV USB recording, USB infoLink & 4 x HDMI receiving all free land to air channels; a 5.1 HDMI upscaling DVD player with USB , a games table, library and tourist information. The sofa converts for the extra person charge into a double bed with inner-spring mattress which can sleep an extra 1 or 2 people.

Complimentary Wireless Broadband (limits apply), cardphone & other optional extras also available.

A wide North Veranda (pictured) furnished with exercise equipment, day bed, tables and chairs connects the two bedrooms (pictured) via French doors.

The Bedrooms

There are two well appointed bedrooms:

The Master Bedroom has a queen-size bed with matching Deco bedside tables and lamps (pictured), vanity (cabinet de toilette), Deco dressing table, full size wardrobe with bar fridge, bay window and French doors opening onto the North Veranda (pictured). The below rates are for 1 or 2 people in this room; extra person charge applies for a room each.

The adjacent Black and Gold bedroom has twin single beds with lamps & bedside table and can be booked for the extra person charge. It has a vanity (cabinet de toilette), Deco wardrobe with full-size mirror and French doors opening onto the North Veranda connecting with the Master bedroom.

A double sofa bed with an inner spring mattress can be booked to sleep an extra one or two people in the lounge room.

A large, luxurious bathroom features a full-size bath, separate shower recess, vanity & dual-flush toilet. As befits this beautiful rainforest residence, your water supply is pure, soft rainwater.

Aldwych Park is a self-sustaining house on an eco-friendly property which is a carbon sink (carbon negative). The property is being regenerated by the resident owner from a degraded cattle property and is a registered Land for Wildlife property.

PETS
Aldwych Park is pet friendly and trained pets are accommodated with prior notice. Food and water bowls and secure enclosures are available and house-trained pets are welcome indoors. A small tariff of $10 a day per pet is payable for the facilities & the pest control, sanitising, deodorising & extra cleaning needed for the comfort of our other not-so-pet-friendly visitors and allergy sufferers.
