Spotted Gum Cottage, 4kms nth of Tathra on a sealed road, is a fully equipped holiday retreat. With polished hardwood floors, large dining and living areas, its huge windows offer views to the forest and the sea. King Parrots, Lorrikeets and Wonga Pigeons are just some of the wonderful birds that visit every day. Sit in the lounge room with the winter sun streaming in, or on the verandah and enjoy their antics. A short walk takes you to the still waters of the inlet, a boating, swimming, fishing paradise. Enjoy a BBQ or a glass of wine on the deck, or just gaze at the everchanging colours of the sea and watch sea eagles soar over the inlet and pelicans gliding to rest on the water. At night you may catch a glimpse of the rare and endangered Yellow Bellied Glider, which abound in the adjoining forest, while inside a large gas heater will keep the winter chills at bay.
Picturesque Moon Bay, perfect for skinny dipping, is a good leisurely walk from the front door, through the spotted gum and burrawang forest of the Mimosa Rocks National Park.
Tathra is just 2 minutes by car or a brisk walk or ride along the bike track for the energetic. It boasts a patrolled surf beach, great restaurants, cafes, galleries, shops, skate bowl and modern children\'s playground. Known as the holiday spot with the lot, Tathra\'s reputation is due to the fantastic scenery, unspolit beaches, great fishing and award winning oysters. The Tathra Beach Bowling Club and the Tathra Beach Country Club, welcome visitors to play bowls, golf or tennis.
