Ellerslie Retreat is ideal for a relaxing family getaway or a quiet weekend escape. Situated just 20 minutes south of Forster and only 90 minutes North of Newcastle.
Ellerslie was built in 1913 as a family home, which quickly became the first guest house for people all over NSW, and afterwards became the local post office and telephone exchange for the area, where the youngest daughter Elsie carried on this business. The property has been in the family ever since.
It is a 4 bedroom self contained house, that sleeps up to 10 people and is being lovingly restored since 1995.
Ellerslie is positioned on 30 acres of land at the edge of Wallis Lake.
The property has 3 dams that attract native ducks and birds, grazing cattle & a chicken pen.

How to find us by air or road.

For those travelling from O/S and Interstate, both Jetstar and Virgin have services to Newcastle's Williamtown Airport and RAAF base with Aviation Museum, approx 90mins south of Pacific Palms. Bus and hire car services available, check with your travel agent. There's also a light aircraft strip on Wallis Island at Forster approx 20 mins north.

DRIVING FROM SYDNEY;

Ellerslie Retreat is located approximately 3 1/2 hours North of Sydney. Take the F3 Freeway out of Sydney, head North towards NEWCASTLE/TAREE and over the HEXHAM BRIDGE, at this point the F3 becomes the PACIFIC HIGHWAY {1}.

Stay on Highway {1} until you turn off into the LAKES WAY, Tourist Drive {6} approx 2 kms North of BULAHDELAH (past the Golf Course on your right) the Lakes Way is just after where the divided road starts, move into the outside lane (right hand lane) and turn right across the divided road into the "Lakes way" (Tourist Drive 6) where a large sign indicates SEAL ROCKS,SMITHS LAKE and PACIFIC PALMS.
This section of the trip takes approx 30 mins passing through beautiful forests and lakes on your way.
You will pass THROUGH BUNGWAHL (an old timber town) and PAST the turn OFFS to SEAL ROCKS and SMITHS LAKE before turning left onto COOMBA ROAD. Follow this road for 8.5 kms. The property is on the left hand side opposite the lake. A sign on the fence says "ELLERSLIE RETREAT"


FROM THE NORTH: Continue on the Pacific Highway past Taree and continue on to the turn off to Forster and the Lakesway, pass through Tuncurry and over the bridge to Forster, continue on this main road you will pass McDonalds on your right and then Woolworths and large shopping centre on your left (good place to stop and pick up a few goodies) go through the roundabout at Woolies and continue on for approx 20 mins turning right onto Coomba Road. Follow this road for 8.5 kms. The property is on the left hand side opposite the lake. A sign on the fence says "ELLERSLIE RETREAT"
