Emma Stokes Cottage is about 160 years old with spectacular views across the wide open spaces of the Monaro countryside to the snow capped mountains of Thredbo.
Fully self contained, this is ideal for anyone wanting to relax or experience farm life on a sheep station and explore the Snowy Mountains.
It is about an hours drive from Canberra and the same time to drive to the Ski Fields or the South Coast of Bega.
The farm is where you can relax and undwind, explore 1000 acres, participate in farm life of mustering sheep and fencing. Licenced shooters can cull limited kangaroos, rabbits and foxes.
Cooma has several restaurants and an excellent art gallery. From there you can travel to the Snowy Mountains through Berridale and Jindabyne.
In the other direction you can travel through Bega to the South Coast beaches of Tathra, Merrimbula to Eden which is known for its Whale watching. There is great fishing on the South Coast and seasonal trout fishing at Lake Eucumbene near Adaminaby.
Things to do such as skiing, white water rafting, absailing, rock climbing, horse riding, searching for Brumbie horses, visiting the Hydro-Electric Scheme, hiking through the snow gums and snow flowers. There are quaint villages with craft/galleries, coffee shops and wineries.
Or join in and experience work on a sheep farm.
The timber cottage is self contained and is inique as it was 160 years ago. There are three bedrooms one double and two single, a living room and cooking and dining area.
Linen is provided.
There are various farm buildings to explore such as the shearing shed, a blacksmiths shed, and a meat house and the original old orchard.
Pricing is for each person staying, with two nights minimum stay.
