AVista has an expansive view of the river - perhaps enjoy a glass of wine while you watch the dolphins swimming, pelicans skimming the water and boats sailing. Great for a quiet holiday to unwind, or get involved in the many nearby activities. Park your car and leave it for the week. Walk or cycle for a change of pace. Cottage offers modern comforts while retaining traditional charm. Reverse cycle air conditioning to keep you comfortable year round. The house has 3 bedrooms, (sleeps 8) brand new kitchen, new ensuite and new bathroom. (there is a carport and plenty of off street parking) Open plan lounge dining area. Polished boards throughout. Covered BBQ area outside, ready to cook your catch of the day or morning breakfast.
. Great fishing & boating- catch a flathead in the river opposite, boat to the "spots" in the river/lake, or fish off the beach.
. Walk along the breakwall to where the Camden Haven river meets the sea.
. Get some oysters off the rocks.
. A choice of beaches - 800m flat walk to a Grants Beach (patrolled) or a short drive to Pilot beach which is nestled next to the river breakwall (bay like - ideal for children or a quiet swim)
. Cycle paths abound - a flat ride into Laurieton.
. Plaza movie theatre at Laurieton - old style theatre with current releases/lots of sessions in 2 theatres.
. Riverwalk markets each month (3rd Sunday of the month). Local produce and creations.
. Port Macquarie is 20 min drive north offering plenty of shopping and tourist attractions.
. Bowling club (with 7 day Brasserie for lunch and dinner) a easy flat walk, approx 250m.
. Restaurants and cafes a short walk away.
. National parks surround - great walks in Dooragang National Park or take an energetic walk to the top of North Brother Mountain
. Take a picnic and check the view from North Brother Mountain.
Approx 4.5 hours drive north from Sydney. 2.5 hours north of Newcastle. Located off the highway, approx 30 km south of Port Macquarie. Other cute towns nearby include Dunbogan, Laurieton, Bonny Hills and Lake Cathie, which has a fabulous lake for swimming and fishing. Lake Cathie is often opened to the sea and has beautiful grassed picnic areas for the family.
