Blanchetown is situated on the river Murray approx. 130 km north-east of Adelaide, within easy reach of the Riverland and the Barossa Valley. The uncrowded waterways, sheltered river bends and sandy banks are popular with water-skiers in the summer months.
Blanchetown is where the Murray River’s lock and weir water flow management system starts.
The old bridge in the town gives an excellent view of Lock 1 and flying above are hundreds of hungry pelicans that love to feed on the schools of fish near the spillway.
Although Blanchetown’s towering cliffs are famous for the grand views of their changing colours, closer inspection reveals fossilised treasures such as starfish, shells and fish.
The house is very spacious with separate family, dining and lounge rooms. The bedding consists of 1 Queen size, 2 double beds and 2 bunk beds. Extra foldout beds available if required. Outside verandah and an outdoor setting.
Enjoy a campfire (fire ban season to be observed).
9m X 7m X 2.7m Garage should accomodate most boats.
First turn left past the bridge takes you to a lawn area adjacent to river bank with several public shelters, barbacue facilities, toilets and kiosk. It is an ideal location for picnics, boating, fishing or swimming the whole family can enjoy.
