Akama offers a dress circle location for anyone wanting to experience the very best of Hervey Bay and Fraser Island. The Bay's newest five star resort, Akama is right across the road from Hervey Bay Marina where all the tours leave for Fraser Island.

From the balcony of most apartments the views encompass the mast tops bobbing gently in the marina and beyond these, the Great Sandy Straights and the panoramic shores of Fraser Island can be seen. But it is not just the location that is A-class. The apartments are luxuriously spacious with high ceilings and a flow through design to very generous balconies – push back the concertina doors and open your apartment up to the views and tropical breezes. Each features sensational kitchens, glistening plasma TVs and an uncomplicated contemporary style that offers both panache for a romantic escape as well as easy-care family living.

1,2,3 and penthouse apartments

Our stunning apartments have a Queen bed in the main bedroom, a 66cm LCD on the wall, full size built in robes plus a large luxurious ensuite, along with sliding glass doors opening directly onto the balcony.

The second and or third bedrooms have two king split singles which can be also made into king beds on request, easy access to the second bathroom which has a full bath for the little ones, and there is also a separate fully equipped laundry. Broadband is available to all units.

The beautifully appointed kitchen has all the mod cons you could possibly require including a coffee machine, it adjoins the spacious lounge, dining which is all open plan. There are 9 ft concertina glass doors that open up the full width and height of the lounge room onto the sun drenched balcony bringing the outside in.
most have fabulous ocean views from your bedroom and balcony over the Marina and Great Sandy Straits complete the picture.
The living area has a 106cm Plasma TV with DVD, CD and Austar channels so there are plenty of programs to keep the kids entertained.

The outdoor pool and spa are extremely inviting with sun lounges that fringe the pool and a large shallow area which is great for the littlies. You can sit and relax on a sun lounge right next to them. Near to the pool is a BBQ area where you can enjoy your BBQ or take it back to have on your own balcony.

We are situated in an excellent location 150 meters to the Marina where there is a great selection of restaurants. This is also the departure point for all the Fraser Island tours. A 200 metre walk will take you down a tree lined path to a lovely quiet beach, the airport is a mere 4kms away where you can take flights to Lady Elliot Island to scuba dive or snorkel amongst the myriad of marine life.
