Atherton Tableland Accommodation - Two private luxury fully self contained cottages on 41 acres tucked away in a secluded valley at the end of a country road. Just over an hours drive from the Cairns Airport, yet nestled among the natural wonders of the Atherton Tablelands.

Wake up to birdsong and the smell of fresh country air, see the Kangaroos playing and the cattle grazing, drop a line in the private dam - catch a Sooty Grunter or two. Soak in the double spa (Cottage 2) or spoil yourself by indulging in a traditional Hawaiian Temple Style Massage in the privacy of your own cottage.

Inclusions

Your Tariff includes: Complimentary Chocolates and Fresh Local Ground Coffee on arrival, and Sumptuous Continental Breakfast Hamper Daily. Optional extras available at reasonable rates: Extra Hampers: (Other Breakfast, Wine & Cheese, and BBQ), Release Packages and Gourmet Mini-Bar loaded with treats to temp you.

Both Cottages are Open Plan with a Queen size bed, Double inner spring Sofa bed, Large Bathroom, Seperate FSC Kitchen, Undercover Carport, and Private deck. The cottages are ideally suited to couples, but can sleep up to a maximum of 4 guests. All linen is provided including extra Mink Blankets, Firm Latex and Super Soft Feather-like Pillows.

Our Cottages also include:Heated Rooms, 26" LCD, Dishwasher, Double Spa (‘Dingo’s Lair’), Walk-In-Shower (‘Owl’s Hollow’), Ironing Facilities, Laundry available, and Private Deck with Weber BBQ.

Location

Centrally located on the edge of the Atherton Tableland Golden Triangle, outside the highland drizzle, just over an hours drive from the Cairns Airport. We are nestled amongst many natural wonders of the Atherton Tablelands, and are privileged to be just minutes away from Wineries, Coffee Plantations, Wildlife viewing, and many more local Tours and Attractions, and not to mention a Cheese and Chocolate Factory. We are also just minutes away from Tinaroo Dam for Water Sports & Fishing and Historical Township of Yungaburra for Fine Dining and their famous Markets. You are welcome to bring your boats for use on Tinaroo Dam.

We chose the name “Barking Owl Retreat” due to the abundance of Barking Owls in our area. We also have a large variety of beautiful Australian Native Birds and Wildlife at our doorstep.
