Originally surveyed in 1902 as a market garden for the developing pearling town of Broome, Buckleys Bush Retreat is situated on the edge of Buckleys Plain with panoramic rural views. It is surrounded by coastal park.
Wander across the plains, over the sand hills and onto the northern end of pristine Cable Beach, swim or just enjoy the tranquil setting, devoid of the hassle and bustle of town.
A grassed area with hammocks, chairs and a BBQ is available as a shared facility.
We do ask that you be careful with your electrical usage as the property is powered by a solar array.
You do need your own transport; there are plenty of parking spaces for boats and trailers.
Buckleys Plain is home to a huge variety of bird life including the brolga, which graces you with fly bys at sunset. A scattering of large tea trees, lippia, buffle grass and Kimberley couch naturally covers the area.
Three park cabins, each fully self contained, are situated under the tea trees on the southern end of the block giving you total privacy.
Travel 9kms out on the Broome Highway towards Derby until you reach the Cape Levique road, turn north and traverse another 3kms until you reach the McGuigan Rd sign post [Buckleys Bush Retreat have a sign on this post] turn west and travel 4.9kms until you see our sign on the bend.
