The HOMESTEAD was built circa 1853 has four bed rooms. It has two rooms with open fires named the Tuscan and Provincial rooms and these we class as our deluxe rooms. There are robes supplied for the use of guests to wear to the old period bathrooms in the hall, which have original claw-foot baths, shower and toilet. Each room will have a bathroom per couple, if they stay more than one night. There are two bathrooms. When the colonial and cottage standard rooms are let on a one night basis along with the Provincial and Tuscan rooms, then they share the bathrooms . This will be the case on public holiday periods as well. Suitable for group bookings, couples twin share and singles. There is a TV/DVD in all rooms and TV/DVD in the lounge where there is an open fire. There are a range of tea and coffee`s to choose from in the conservatory. Hydronic heating through-out and a view over a 100 metre garden. Decor is in keeping with the period to which it was built. The Great Outdoors TV Team has experienced in-doors here.
Very few accommodation properties will compare with the manor. Included are eight very individual rooms surrounding a large open lounge and central is a grand double sided open fire place. In the lounge, the sun shines in all directions throughout the day. The furnishings in the manor are of eclectic decor, creates a sense of homelyness. The manor has two premier rooms that can sleep up to 4 persons and 4 deluxe rooms that suit, either doubles or twin share. Then there are two standard rooms, one a small double and one a small twin located next to each other.
All rooms have ensuites, TV/DVD's, tea and coffee facilities, centrally heated and are of quality. We are constantly booked out by groups and also provide for, individuals, couples and twinshare stay per room per night. The large acreage has maintained its rural feel, with sheep, ducks and cows in the surounding paddocks. We have a private road that leeds of the main highway that passes through town. Also we have our very own private off-street carpark for our guests without having to park in the streets and not too close to neighbours.
The property is within a 10 minute walk to the centre of town and located at the picturesque end of town up on the hill.
There is a popular hotel with a restaurant within 4 minutes walk, a wine bar almost adjacent and a Sunday market place and tourist railway is just across the road. The botanical gardens and Art Gallerary are located behind the tourist railway.
Only 80 minutes to travel from Melbourne and it will take the same time to travel either via the Calder freeway toward Woodend or via the Western freeway to take the next turn to Daylesford after Ballan along the freeway toward Ballarat. From Geelong it is about 75 minutes via Ballan. From Bendigo about 60 minutes and Woodend or Ballarat about 30 minutes. In fact Daylesford is the centre of attention to travel from 4 large cities. The Spa Country and Macedon Ranges Region as it is known, is rich in mineral water, gold, history, beauty, culture, fine dining, wineries, fishing, golfing and walks and also of course MASSAGE and we can do this at the Station House Daylesford.
