  • "Due to work commitments I had to leave my summer holiday until March this year and booked the cottage for a couple of weeks. The calm bush sounds and lake breezes lull you into a state of relaxation as the stress of work and day to day life fades away with ease. The nightly wildlife vists from possums and bandicoots are just an added bonus. The house has everything that you would ever need and has a great atmosphere with the high ceiling and loft area. Once on the lake, it seems and feels like it was put there just for you to enjoy in peace. Forster is just up the road as well as more beaches, lakes, rivers etc. Great holiday, great house, great area, you would have to try very hard to spoil a holiday here."

  • "We stayed at Lakeshore Cottage for 2 weeks, and it was a brilliantly relaxing holiday. The views and the wildlife were fantastic. There was plenty of fun to be had on and in the lake, and the water was so clear. There are some other lovely spots to visit close by, cruises to go on and some spectacular beaches. The Bowls Club just up the road serves delicious meals at reasonable prices. Our 2 children had a wonderful time feeding the birds and the possums, and making friends with other children down at the lake. The house was lovely, well appointed and very comfortable, in a nice quiet location. Highly recommend it!!"

  • "We are a family of four plus a small dog and fouynd Lakeshore great. Direct access to the lakes (which means a sandy beach, lazy walks, fishing and swims for the kids etc etc) and the house very functional, very well equipped kitchen, very clean and tidy, cable TV, comfortable beds (best bring your own pillows).... we all said we'd be back. J,C, L and S"

  • "It was very much a case of what you see is what you get, which is meant in a good way!"
    Dallas, October 2008

  • "Was daily pleasantly amazed by how underutilised Smiths Lake is. A true hidden gem. The 'Chalet'-style house was great though a couple of birds flew in in occasion!! Would return."
