Once a convict jail, Cascades Colonial Accommodation offers beautifully restored atmospheric cottages in a private bay setting with waterfront and rainforest walks and museum. Decorated with period furniture and antiques Cascades offers an expereince not just accommodation. Cascades has been in the family for 5 generations. It is also in a prime location to visit the Port Arthur Historic Site and the Saltwater River Coal Mines or Tasman National Parks.

Officers Quarters Cottages

The 1 bedroom cottages were single Officers Quarters cottages in the convict days. Two cottages have a double bed and two cottages have a double and single bed in the same room with shower ensuite. The other room has a kitchen / living area with set open fire place. The 2 bedroom cottage was the married Officers Quarters in the convict days. It is accross the road from the rest of the settlement. It has a queen size and 2 king single beds, a full size kitchen, lounge area with set open fire place, 1 bathroom with shower over bath and laundry out the back. The price for a 1 bedroom cottage is $160 for 2 people and $25 for 1 extra person. The price for the 2 bedroom cottage is $220 for 2 people and $25 extra per person. A fold out bed is also available on request for the 2 bedroom cottage at no extra cost. Prices include continental breakfast provisions.

Luxury Spa Cottage

The luxury spa cottage was a workshop in the convict days. The cottage offers 2 bathrooms 1 with double spa, queen size bed, central heating and full size kitchen. Uncluttered decor with crisp clean lines complimented by furniture skillfully handcrafted from local timbers selected off the property. The most propular cottage. The cost is $220 for 2 people including continental breakfast provisions. A single bed can be made up in a middle room that opens up into the lounge / kitchen area with no door way in between. An extra person costs $30.
