Local Attractions

If your in the mood for activity theres golf, fishing, bowling, clubs, swimming in the ocean, rockpool or indoor aquatic centre, surfing, ten pin bowling, putt-putt golf, movie theatre, fun parks, bushwalking, dolphin-watching, diving, deep-sea fishing, water-skiing and scenic walks.

Rent a boat and do a little fishing, or simply motor around the lake. There are some great places to stop at for picnics and swimming.

Want something a little more relaxing ? Breakfast overlooking the lake ? Or perhaps you would just like to sit on the balcony and watch the myriad of activity which occurs in and around the harbour.

In April each year we have the Triatholon, the Oyster festival in October, regular markets with local crafts for sale, and carnivals. Visit the Great Lakes web site for an update on current activities in the area.

Forster-Tuncurry is a 3 hour drive north of Sydney, and the roads are mostly duel-carriageway. Alternatively you can fly to Taree or use the bus/train available.
