Charming and comfortable 2 bedroom apartment with polished floors, Indian rugs, and wonderfully comfortable leather seating and beds. DVD and and CD player. The main bedroom has a queen bed, and the second bedroom has a double and a single. The living/dining area has french doors that open onto a pretty, enclosed garden with outdoor seating and piped gas BBQ. The small, well-equipped, kitchen is conveniently located next to the indoor dining area, and has a lovely view. It is equipped with an electric stove, fridge, washing machine and microwave. The bathroom has a shower, and there is a seperate toilet.
The Ferry House is a purpose-built duplex, and the apartment for let is downstairs, with the owner living upstairs. There is a concrete slab between the 2 flats.
It is a busy spot, being almost opposite the Ferry Wharf, and on the main road, so there is traffic during the day, but usually little more than buses (every half hour) at night.
It is next door to Frangipani Cottage, which is convenient for larger groups.
Walking distance to beaches, restaurants, cafes, galleries and shops. Restaurants nearby include Barrenjoey House, Swelter, Dunes, Beach Road, Jonah's, Whale Beach Restaurant, Beach House Restaurant at Whale Beach and Barrenjoey Bistro at the Palm Beach RSL.
Palm Beach, the playground of the rich and famous, is set at the northenmost tip of a stunningly beautiful peninsula. A ten minute walk over the 'hill' takes you from the tranquil waters of Pittwater, with its backdrop of West Head National Park, its ferries and sailing boats to the 2 km stretch of sand and surf of the famous ocean beach, where "Home And Away' is filmed.
Snapperman's Beach on Pittwater, directly opposite the apartment, is ideal for small children, or simply sitting and looking at the view.
The beautiful ocean beach is a ten minute walk away, or 2 minutes in the car, where one can swim, surf, spot the celebrities, or simply soak up the sun and the view. There is also a lovely ocean pool.
Walk up to Barrenjoey Lighthouse for a stunning panorama; tours of the lighthouse are also possible, but have to be pre-booked.
Kayaks, windsurfers, tinnies for hire close by. Also diving, and joyrides on the seaplane.
Cross the road and take a ferry to the western foreshore settlements, where you can picnic at The Basin, or go for a bushwalk. Or have fish and chips at Patonga, visit Cottage Point with its charming, waterfront restaurant, or take a long, leisurely trip to Bobbin Head. Hardys Bay and the Central Coast are also accessible by ferry from Palm Beach.
The golf course at Palm Beach has a glorious setting.
Well known restaurants, such as Jonah's and Beach Road, are close by, and Cottage Point Inn is a ferry ride away, and there are many cafes and interesting shops to potter in.
Call in at Palm Beach Wine Co. for that special bottle, and gourmet snacks to go with it.
The neighbouring suburb of Avalon is also well worth a visit, with its cosmopolitan atmosphere, numerous and varied shops, delicatessens, bottle shops, cafes. restaurants and a supermarket. f you want a souvenir of your stay, The Ark House in Avalon Parade has a wide range of 'Australiana' goods.
