"Are you looking for an escape but still want to stay close to Sydney? You are in for a treat. Less than an hour's drive from Sydney, Scotland Island is nestled amidst the stunning natural beauty of the magnificent Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Set in the heart of Pittwater, the area encompasses superb waterways, wharves, boatsheds, ferries, and secluded beaches, just 27kms from the centre of Sydney. The thriving native bushland contains pockets of rainforest, rivers, creeks, waterfalls, sandstone headlands and a wonderful collection of accessible Aboriginal rock art. It is an island only accessible by boat or ferry. There are plenty of fantastic walks on the island or in the nearby National Park.
We stayed at SCOTLAND ISLAND LODGE, a delightful B&B hideaway on the North Eastern side of the island, owned and run by Colin and Rosemary Haskell. Scotland Island Lodge has just three rooms; a king size ensuite, and a queen and twin rooms which share a bathroom. Rosemary is passionate about cooking; her big English breakfasts are simply delicious. There are so many fantastic things about Scotland Island, you'll just have to experience them for yourself".
